JAMB ACTIVATES PORTAL FOR 2026 O’LEVEL RESULT UPLOADING ON CAPS
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially activated the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) portal for the uploading of 2026 Ordinary Level (O’Level) results.
With this development, candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as “Awaiting Result” (AR) candidates can now proceed to upload their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), National Examination Council (NECO), or NABTEB results to ensure their admission processing moves forward.
The activation comes just one week after the conclusion of the 2026 National Policy Meeting, where minimum institutional benchmarks and admission timelines for the 2026/2027 academic session were established.
Why You Must Upload Your O’Level Results Immediately
JAMB has repeatedly emphasized that uploading O’Level results on CAPS is a mandatory prerequisite for admission consideration. Under the unified admission guidelines:
No Upload, No Admission: The automated CAPS portal will automatically bypass any candidate with a missing O’Level profile. Even if you score 300+ in the UTME, institutions cannot propose you for admission if your O’Level field is blank.
Institutional Screenings: Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education require verified O’Level data to calculate departmental aggregate scores for upcoming Post-UTME screening exercises.
Step-by-Step Guide: How to Upload Your Results
Candidates are strongly advised to avoid regular cybercafés, as invalid uploads can permanently disrupt admission eligibility. To safely upload your results, follow these official steps:
Visit an Accredited CBT Centre: Go to any JAMB-accredited Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre or a regional JAMB office nearest to you.
Provide Required Documents: Bring along your original UTME registration slip, your printed O’Level result slip (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB), and your login details.
Verify Upload via JAMB CAPS: After the CBT officer completes the upload, log in to your personal JAMB profile via the facility portal, navigate to the “Check Admission Status” tab, select “Access my CAPS,” and click on “My O’Level” to confirm that your grades are accurately reflected.
Important Notice for Dual-Sitting Candidates
Candidates combining two sittings (e.g., WAEC and NECO) must ensure that the grades from both exam bodies are successfully uploaded to the portal during their visit to the CBT centre.
With public institutions facing an October 31, 2026 admission conclusion deadline, early verification on the CAPS portal remains the most effective strategy for securing a smooth screening process.
