IGNATIUS AJURU UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION (IAUE) ANNOUNCES 44TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY
The Management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, is pleased to announce the official dates for its 44th Convocation Ceremony. This follows the gracious approval of the Executive Governor of Rivers State and Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS.
In a parallel development of academic excellence, the University Senate has announced the elevation of 76 senior academic staff to the ranks of Professor and Reader (Associate Professor), marking a significant milestone in the institution’s intellectual growth.
I. 44TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY SCHEDULE
The Chairman of Senate, Professor Okechuku Onuchuku, announced the following schedule during an emergency Senate meeting held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026:

Friday, 8th May 2026:

Activity: Award of First Degrees and Presentation of Prizes.

Target: All graduating students from the various undergraduate faculties.

Activity: Conferment of Higher Degrees (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters, and Doctorates).

Target: All graduands from the School of Postgraduate Studies.

II. ELEVATION TO THE RANK OF PROFESSOR
Following the ratification by the University Council, 35 distinguished scholars have been elevated to the rank of Professor. This promotion recognizes their extensive research, teaching excellence, and contribution to their respective fields.
