The management of Gombe State University (GSU) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for its 2026/2027 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) online screening exercise, giving prospective candidates more time to complete their applications.

According to a public notice issued by the Office of the Registrar on 29 July 2026, the online registration, which was originally scheduled to close on Friday, 31 July 2026, will now remain open until Monday, 31 August 2026.

The university explained that the extension was approved to provide another opportunity for qualified candidates who were unable to complete their online screening registration before the initial deadline.

Who Can Apply?

The extension is open to all eligible candidates who meet the university’s admission requirements and are yet to complete their registration for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening exercise.

Candidates who have not registered are advised to take advantage of the additional time and complete the screening process before the new deadline.

Interested applicants should visit the university’s official Post-UTME screening portal to complete their online registration before the closing date.

Important Notice to Applicants

The university emphasized that the extension affects only the registration deadline. All eligibility requirements, registration procedures, and admission conditions contained in the earlier Post-UTME advertisement remain unchanged.

Candidates are therefore advised to carefully follow the registration guidelines and ensure that all required information and documents are correctly submitted.

Age Requirement

Gombe State University also reminded applicants that only candidates who will be at least 16 years old on or before 30 September 2026 will be considered for admission into the university for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Applicants who do not meet the age requirement will not be eligible for admission.
