FG Announces commencement of applications for Federal Technical Colleges

There is amazing news for young people across Nigeria! Under the “Renewed Hope” education plan of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Ministry of Education is now accepting applications for Federal Technical Colleges nationwide.

This is a special chance to get a free education that focuses on “doing” rather than just “reading.” The government wants to make sure that young Nigerians learn practical skills—like fixing machines, building houses, or working with technology—so they can get good jobs or even start their own businesses.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, is very happy about this. He believes that giving young people these skills is the best way to help them and the country grow.


Important Dates for Your Calendar

To get into one of these colleges, you need to take a test called the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE). Here are the dates you must remember:

  • Registration Opens: Monday, January 26, 2026.

  • Registration Closes: Sunday, May 24, 2026.

  • The Big Exam Day: Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Note: Do not wait until the last minute! It is a good idea to register as soon as the portal opens so you have plenty of time to prepare.


Who Can Apply?

This program is for young people who want to learn a trade and become experts with their hands.

  • Age: You must be between 13 and 20 years old.

  • Goal: You should be someone who wants to learn technical or vocational skills.

  1. Go Online: Visit the official portal at https://student.nabteb.gov.ng.

  2. Fill the Form: Put in your personal details correctly.

  3. Submit: Make sure everything is correct before you click the final button.


Why is Technical Education Great?

You might be used to regular schools, but Technical Colleges are different in a fun way:
