FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, OWERRI (FUTO) RELEASES SUPPLEMENTARY ADMISSION FORM FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Management of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening Exercise for Supplementary Admission.

The announcement, issued through the Office of the Registrar, is targeted at candidates who chose the Federal University of Technology, Owerri as their first-choice university in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as well as eligible candidates who did not initially choose the university but are willing to change their institution of choice.

The application portal is scheduled to open on Thursday, September 24, 2026, and close on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE SUPPLEMENTARY POST-UTME SCREENING

According to the university, candidates must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the exercise:

1. Candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026.
2. Candidates must ensure that their JAMB subject combination corresponds with the prescribed requirements for the programme they applied for.
3. Candidates who did not initially choose the Federal University of Technology, Owerri as their first-choice university but scored a minimum of 150 in the 2026 UTME may also apply, provided they visit JAMB CAPS and change their institution of choice to FUTO.
4. Candidates must have at least five O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, together with three other relevant subjects depending on their chosen programme. The credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
5. Only candidates who scored a minimum of 150 in the 2026 UTME are eligible to apply for programmes with a minimum JAMB score requirement of 150.
6. Some programmes have a higher minimum JAMB score requirement of 170.

PROGRAMMES REQUIRING A MINIMUM JAMB SCORE OF 170

Candidates applying for the following programmes are required to have a minimum JAMB score of 170:

Candidates are advised to confirm that their UTME score meets the minimum requirement for their chosen programme before applying.

APPLICATION FEE AND PAYMENT

The approved application fee depends on whether the candidate had previously applied for the Post-UTME screening exercise.

Candidates who had earlier applied for the Post-UTME Screening are required to pay an application fee of ₦18,000.

Candidates making a fresh application are required to pay ₦20,000.

NATURE OF THE SCREENING EXERCISE

The Federal University of Technology, Owerri stated that the 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening Exercise will be based on candidates’ verified JAMB scores and O’Level results uploaded on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

Candidates are therefore advised to ensure that their JAMB and O’Level records are accurate and properly updated before completing their applications.

IMPORTANT NOTICES TO CANDIDATES

Candidates are required to take note of the following:

VERIFY DETAILS ON JAMB CAPS

Candidates should ensure that the details on their JAMB CAPS, including their programme of choice, match the information provided on the FUTO Post-UTME application portal.

Candidates should also verify their:

• JAMB Registration Number
• Date of Birth
• State of Origin
• Other application details

PROVIDE VALID CONTACT DETAILS

Candidates must enter a valid mobile phone number and email address that can be used by the university for further communication.

UPLOAD O’LEVEL RESULTS TO JAMB CAPS

Candidates must upload their O’Level results to JAMB CAPS no later than Thursday, October 8, 2026.

After uploading the result, candidates should click “Refresh” after entering their examination details to ensure that the result has been properly updated on CAPS.

LATE REGISTRATION

Candidates who fail to register within the stipulated application period will not be considered for the screening exercise.

The university also stated that only candidates who successfully submit their applications online will be considered for admission.

HOW TO APPLY FOR FUTO 2026/2027 SUPPLEMENTARY POST-UTME

Eligible candidates are required to complete the application through the university’s official portal.

STEP 1: VISIT THE UNIVERSITY PORTAL

Visit the Federal University of Technology, Owerri website at:

Click on “Prospective Students”, then select “Undergraduate”.

Alternatively, candidates can access the undergraduate portal through:

STEP 2: GENERATE PAYMENT INVOICE

Click on “Generate Invoice”.

Enter your JAMB Registration Number to generate a payment invoice containing the Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR).

STEP 3: MAKE PAYMENT

Proceed to any bank with the payment invoice to make the required payment.

Candidates may also make payment using their ATM card.

STEP 4: RETURN TO THE APPLICATION PORTAL

After making payment, return to:

https://portal.futo.edu.ng/#undergraduate

Click on “Application Form”.

Enter your JAMB Registration Number and click on “Login”.

STEP 5: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM

Proceed with the completion of the application form.

Candidates should:

• Enter all required details correctly.
• Carefully review their information.
• Confirm their entries.
• Submit the application.

Candidates are particularly advised to note that the application is considered completed only after clicking the “Submit” button.

STEP 6: PRINT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT SLIP

After successfully submitting the application, candidates should print their acknowledgement slip and keep it for their records.

Candidates should then await further communication from the university.

The FUTO 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening Exercise for Supplementary Admission will run from:
