The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, on behalf of the Council, Senate, Staff, and Students of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), cordially invites the general public to the 34th Convocation Ceremony of the 2024/2025 Academic Session and the 43rd Founders’ Day Celebration.

This special occasion is organized for the conferment of Degrees, Diplomas, Postgraduate Diplomas, Higher Degrees, and the presentation of prizes to deserving graduands. It is also a time to celebrate the rich history, growth, and achievements of the university since its establishment.

Friday, 23rd January, 2026

Convocation Juma’at Prayer

  • Venue: Main Campus Mosque, Gidan Kwano

  • Time: 1:30 p.m.


Sunday, 25th January, 2026

Convocation Church Service

  • Venue: The Chapel of Grace, Bosso Campus

  • Time: 9:00 a.m.


Monday, 26th January, 2026

Vice-Chancellor’s Press Briefing

  • Venue: APC Building, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano

  • Time: 10:00 a.m.


Thursday, 29th January, 2026

Final Football Match

  • Venue: Football Field, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano

  • Time: 4:00 p.m.


Friday, 30th January, 2026

Exhibition

  • Venue: Suleimanu Kumo Convocation Square, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano

  • Time: 10:00 a.m.

Commissioning of Projects

  • Venue: Project Sites

  • Time: 10:00 a.m.


Saturday, 31st January, 2026

Convocation Lecture

  • Venue: University Auditorium, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano

  • Time: 2:00 p.m.


Sunday, 1st February, 2026

Main Convocation Ceremony and Founders’ Day
(Conferment of Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, Higher Degrees, and Presentation of Prizes)

  • Venue: Suleimanu Kumo Convocation Square, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano

  • Time: 10:00 a.m.


Important Information to Graduands

  1. Payment of Fees

    • All payments must be made into the Federal University of Technology, Minna TSA Account

    • Account Number: 0190472161017

    • Bank: Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)

    • For more details, visit: www.futminna.edu.ng

  2. Physical Presence is Mandatory

    • Graduands must be physically present at the ceremony to receive their certificates and prizes.

  3. Documents Required for Certificate Collection
    Graduands must present:
    a. The original statement of result issued by the University (where applicable).
    b. The final year clearance form, duly signed by all concerned offices.
    c. The final year identity card or a letter of identification from the Students’ Affairs Division.

  4. Collection of Invitation Cards and Academic Gowns

    • To be collected from the Secretaries of respective Schools

    • Date: From Monday, 26th January, 2026

  5. Return of Academic Gowns

    • Gowns must be returned immediately after the ceremony before certificates can be collected.

    • Any damaged gown will attract a surcharge.


Security and Conduct

Graduands and guests are to note the following security guidelines:

  1. Parking

    • University security personnel will direct all guests to designated parking areas.

  2. Prohibited Items

    • Luggage and bags are not allowed into the Convocation Square Arena.

  3. Photographers, Hawkers, and Vendors

    • Must pay ₦500 only for registration.

    • They will not be allowed into the Convocation Square after registration.

  4. Time Restriction for Graduands

    • Graduands will not be allowed into the Convocation Square after 10:30 a.m.
