The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has announced an additional Post-UTME screening exercise for eligible UTME candidates seeking admission into selected available courses and programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the University Registrar, C. O. Adeleye. The screening is open to qualified candidates who meet the stated requirements and complete the online registration within the approved period.

FUTA Additional Post-UTME Screening Date

The additional screening exercise will commence on Thursday, September 17, 2026, and end on Friday, October 2, 2026.

Candidates are advised to complete their registration within the stipulated period, as those who fail to register will not be eligible to participate in the screening exercise.

The additional screening exercise covers the following schools and programmes:

B. School of Basic Medical Sciences (SBMS)

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the additional Post-UTME screening exercise, candidates must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 180 in the 2026 UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
  • Candidates must have chosen the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) as their first-choice institution.
  • Candidates must possess at least five O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • The required O’Level credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
  • Accepted examination bodies include WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or their equivalent.
  • Candidates must ensure that their UTME subject combination corresponds with the requirements for their chosen programme.

FUTA Post-UTME Screening Fee

The screening fee is ₦2,000 only.

Payment is to be made through the Remita platform at any bank after generating the required payment code.

Candidates who had previously paid and registered for FUTA’s Post-UTME screening exercise are not required to make another payment.

How to Apply for FUTA Additional Screening

Eligible candidates are required to follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official FUTA website at https://www.futa.edu.ng.
  2. Access the Post-UTME application portal.
  3. Complete and submit the Post-UTME application form online.
  4. Provide the correct JAMB registration number and full name as contained on the JAMB slip.
  5. Make the required payment through Remita.
  6. Complete the online registration form after payment.
  7. Print a copy of the completed registration form.

The registration form is compulsory for all eligible candidates participating in the screening exercise.

Candidates Changing Their Choice of Programme

Candidates who had earlier registered for the FUTA screening exercise but wish to change to any of the newly listed courses or programmes may update their screening portal to reflect their preferred programme.

Such candidates are not required to make another payment.

O’Level Result Upload and JAMB Verification

Candidates must ensure that their O’Level results are uploaded on JAMB CAPS or verified through the JAMB verification portal.

Failure to upload or verify the required O’Level results may render a candidate ineligible for admission consideration.

Candidates are also advised to confirm that their personal details, JAMB registration number and academic information are correctly entered during registration.

Important Notice to Candidates

The university warned that candidates who fail to participate in the screening exercise will not be considered for admission.

In addition, candidates must have attained the age of 16 years by September 30, 2026, to be considered for admission into the university for the 2026/2027 academic session.
