FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND MEDICAL SCIENCES, ABEOKUTA (FUMMSA) RELEASES POST-UTME & DE ADMISSION FORM FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
The Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta (FUMMSA) has released the eligibility criteria and admission requirements for candidates seeking admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The university, which is one of Nigeria’s specialized medical institutions, announced that prospective candidates must meet specific academic and age requirements before they can participate in the admission process.
Eligibility Criteria
According to the university, candidates seeking admission into FUMMSA must satisfy the following conditions:
- Candidates must score 200 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- Applicants must have selected Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta (FUMMSA) as their first-choice institution.
- Candidates must be at least 16 years old on or before September 30, 2026.
- Applicants must possess a minimum of five credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects, including:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Candidates applying for Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, and Dental Surgery must obtain the required five credits in one sitting.
- For other programmes, O’Level results obtained in a maximum of two sittings are acceptable.
- Only results from WAEC and NECO will be accepted.
Admission Requirements
Candidates who meet the above eligibility criteria will be qualified to participate in the university’s admission process.
The university disclosed that applicants will be required to register for the FUMMSA Post-UTME Screening Exercise. The commencement date for registration and screening will be announced later through the institution’s official communication channels.
Applicants will be required to pay:
- ₦2,000 for the Post-UTME Screening Application
- ₦4,000 for Portal Access
Payments are to be made through the university’s admission portal using the approved payment platform.
Admission Screening Method
FUMMSA stated that admission consideration will be based on candidates’ aggregate scores.
The university explained that the maximum obtainable score for the screening exercise is 100 points, comprising:
- 50% UTME Score
- 50% O’Level Result Score
Candidates’ aggregate scores will therefore be calculated using a combination of their UTME performance and O’Level grades.
Admission cut-off points for various programmes will be determined based on the aggregate scores obtained by applicants.
Important Notice to Applicants
The university emphasized that all admission-related transactions must be carried out only through its official portal.
Prospective candidates and parents are strongly advised not to make payments into private accounts or deal with individuals claiming to represent the institution.
FUMMSA warned that it has not appointed any admission agents, and anyone claiming to facilitate admission on behalf of the university is acting fraudulently.
Applicants are therefore urged to remain vigilant and obtain information only from official university sources.
