FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, BAUCHI ISSUES IMPORTANT NOTICE ON LATE REGISTRATION FOR FIRST SEMESTER FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi (FPTB), has formally ratified the terminal schedule for the First Semester 2025/2026 registration cycle. Following the previous administrative extension granted on March 10, 2026, this notice serves as the definitive “Final Call” for all students—both returning and newly admitted—who have yet to regularize their academic standing.

To maintain the integrity of the academic calendar and ensure a seamless transition into the examination phase, the institution is transitioning from the “Magnanimity Grace Period” to a strictly monitored “Late Registration” phase.

THE TWO-PHASE REGISTRATION TERMINATION SCHEDULE

The Registrar’s office has outlined a clear two-stage timeline for the conclusion of the registration exercise. Students are advised to take note of these specific dates to avoid significant financial and academic repercussions.

Phase 1: Expiration of the Grace Period

  • Deadline: Friday, 27th March, 2026.

  • Status: This represents the final window for Regular Registration without additional daily penalties. Students must ensure their course forms and fee payments are validated on the portal by the close of business this Friday.

Phase 2: Approved Late Registration Window

  • Duration: Monday, 30th March to Friday, 3rd April, 2026.

  • Policy: Any registration activity initiated after the March 27th cutoff is officially classified as “Late Registration.” This window is strictly limited to one (1) week of administrative grace.

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: THE DAILY PENALTY STRUCTURE

In a strategic move to enforce administrative discipline and ensure timely data processing, the Management has approved a cumulative penalty for latecomers.

  • The Daily Charge: N1,000 (One Thousand Naira Only) per day.

  • Cumulative Logic: The penalty accrues for every business day the student remains unregistered during the late window (starting from Monday, March 30).

  • Hard Closure: Once the late registration window expires on Friday, April 3rd, the portal will be locked. No further registrations will be processed, regardless of the student’s ability to pay the accrued fines.

ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLIANCE AND STUDENT ADVOCACY

To ensure that no student is left behind due to a lack of information, Heads of Departments (HODs), Class Coordinators, and Registration Officers are hereby mandated to:

  1. Disseminate Information: Ensure this memo is posted on all departmental notice boards and shared across official digital communication channels (e.g., WhatsApp groups and student portals).

  2. Verification Assistance: Assist students in verifying their registration status before the Friday deadline to avoid technical errors being mistaken for late registration.

  3. Strict Enforcement: Adhere strictly to the April 3rd final cutoff for the submission of all departmental registration files to the Central Registry.

CONCLUSION: SECURING YOUR SEMESTER ELIGIBILITY

This notice represents the final administrative safety net for the 2025/2026 session at Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi. Students are urged to “Act Now” to avoid the unnecessary financial burden of the N1,000 per day fine. Completing your registration by Friday, March 27th, is the only way to ensure your name appears on the official first-semester examination broadsheets without penalty.
