CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU OJUKWU UNIVERSITY (COOU) RELEASES POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION FORM FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Postgraduate Programmes of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Anambra State, for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
The admission opportunity is open to candidates seeking to further their education through the University’s Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master of Science (M.Sc) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes.
AVAILABLE POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
The available postgraduate programmes cut across various faculties and departments of the University and include:
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Master of Science (M.Sc)
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)
POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA (PGD) ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates seeking admission into the PGD programme must possess the matriculation requirements of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University or any other university recognised by the Senate of the University.
Applicants may also be considered if they possess:
- At least a Third Class Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field.
- Good grades in acceptable non-degree qualifications such as HND, FIRST, HMLT, ACA, AIB and other relevant qualifications approved by the University.
Candidates with a Lower Credit in the relevant qualification may be required to possess at least five years of relevant working experience before they can be considered for admission.
MASTER OF SCIENCE (M.SC) ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates seeking admission into the M.Sc programme must meet the required matriculation requirements, including five O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, particularly for candidates who obtained their O’Level qualifications after 2013.
Applicants must also possess one of the following:
- At least a Second Class Lower Division from a recognised university.
- A relevant Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with at least a Credit-level pass of 3.0 on a 5.0-point scale or 60% weighted average.
- Candidates with a Professional Master’s Degree may also be considered, provided they meet the relevant admission requirements.
DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (PH.D) ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates seeking admission into the Ph.D programme must possess a relevant Master’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0-point scale or at least 60% on weighted average.
Candidates whose O’Level results were obtained after 2013 must also possess at least five O’Level credit passes, including:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- At least one Science subject
Other requirements may apply as approved by the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
