OSUN STATE UNIVERSITY (UNIOSUN) EXTENDS POST-UTME REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

Prospective students aiming to join Osun State University (UNIOSUN) for the 2025/2026 academic session have received welcome news. The university management has officially extended the closing date for the sale of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening forms.

The new deadline is now set for Wednesday, 24th September 2025, giving candidates additional time to complete their applications and avoid missing out on one of Nigeria’s most sought-after state universities.

Why the Extension Matters

Every year, thousands of applicants compete for a limited number of places at UNIOSUN. Many factors—technical issues, delayed examination results, or financial constraints—can prevent eligible candidates from meeting the initial deadline.

By extending the registration period, the university demonstrates its commitment to fairness and inclusivity, ensuring that no qualified candidate is left out simply because of unforeseen delays.

Who Should Take Advantage of the New Date

  1. First-Choice Candidates:
Anyone who selected UNIOSUN as their first choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) but has not yet applied for the Post-UTME screening.

  2. Direct Entry Applicants:
Candidates seeking Direct Entry (DE) admission into 200-level programmes who have obtained the relevant qualifications—such as A-levels, OND, NCE, or equivalent—and have not yet submitted their forms.

  3. Change of Institution Applicants:
Candidates who recently changed their first-choice institution to UNIOSUN on the JAMB portal and are waiting for the change to reflect can now complete the process without fear of missing the previous cut-off date.

Eligibility Requirements (General Guidelines)

While specific departmental cut-off marks may vary, UNIOSUN traditionally requires:

  • UTME Candidates: A minimum JAMB score of 160 or higher (some competitive courses may demand more).

  • O’Level Results: At least five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

  • Age Limit: Candidates should be at least 16 years old by the time of admission.

Applicants are strongly advised to double-check the university’s official website or admission brochure for course-specific requirements before proceeding.

Step-by-Step Application Process

To ensure a smooth application, follow these steps carefully:

  1. Visit the Official Portal
Go to the UNIOSUN Post-UTME/Screening portal at https://admissions.uniosun.edu.ng/.

  2. Create a Profile
Enter your valid email address and phone number to create a personal account. A verification message will be sent to your email.

  3. Complete the Form
Provide accurate personal details, UTME/DE information, and upload a recent passport photograph. Cross-check all data to avoid errors that might delay processing.

  4. Payment of Processing Fee
Pay the required screening fee (typically around N2,000, excluding transaction charges) via the online payment gateway. Ensure you print the payment receipt for future reference.

  5. Upload Academic Credentials
Scan and upload your O’Level results or other relevant documents. Candidates awaiting results can indicate “AR” (Awaiting Result) but must later upload the final results to both the UNIOSUN and JAMB portals.

  6. Print Confirmation Slip
After submission, print the confirmation slip that includes your unique screening details. Keep it safe for reference during the admission process.

Key Tips for a Successful Application

  • Use Reliable Internet Service: A stable connection will prevent incomplete uploads or errors during payment.

  • Name Consistency: Your name on all documents—O’Level results, JAMB registration, and application form—must match exactly. Discrepancies could delay or disqualify your admission.

  • Early Submission: Even with the extension, avoid waiting until the final day when the portal is likely to experience heavy traffic.

What Happens After Registration

Once registration closes on 24th September 2025, the university will review all applications and release the official screening schedule. UNIOSUN typically conducts an online screening exercise, which evaluates:

  • JAMB UTME scores

  • O’Level performance

  • Other criteria specific to the chosen faculty or department

Successful candidates will later be invited to accept their admission on the JAMB CAPS portal and subsequently proceed with payment of acceptance and tuition fees.

Advice to Parents and Guardians

Parents and guardians play a crucial role in ensuring that their wards meet all requirements. Help your child gather documents early, verify that payment receipts are stored safely, and remind them to keep login details confidential.

Official Statement

The university’s management encourages all prospective candidates to use this grace period wisely. They stress that no further extension is guaranteed, and late entries after the 24th of September will not be entertained.

In a brief note accompanying the announcement, the management highlighted the importance of accuracy and punctuality, reminding applicants that only those who correctly upload their credentials on both the UNIOSUN portal and the JAMB portal will be considered for admission.

Final Reminder

The countdown is on: Wednesday, 24th September 2025 is the new and final deadline for the 2025/2026 Post-UTME and Direct Entry application at Osun State University.

All eligible candidates who have yet to register are strongly advised to act immediately. Early preparation is key to a stress-free admission process and a smooth transition into one of Nigeria’s top institutions of higher learning.

FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, OYE-EKITI (FUOYE) ANNOUNCES RESUMPTION DATE FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has officially released a circular announcing the long-awaited resumption date for the 2025/2026 academic session. According to the memo issued from the Office of the Registrar and signed by Mr. Mufutau A. Ibrahim, all undergraduate students of the university are to resume on Monday, 6th October, 2025.

This announcement follows careful planning and internal consultations within the university’s management team. The circular, referenced FUOYE/REG/CIR/18/Vol.3/101 and dated 18th September, 2025, is addressed to every student of the institution. It serves as an official reminder for both new and returning students to prepare adequately for the commencement of a fresh academic year.

Importance of the Announcement

For many students, the release of the official resumption date marks the beginning of a new academic journey. After several weeks of anticipation, the confirmation of 6th October 2025 provides clarity and allows students to plan their travel, accommodation, and finances well in advance.

Parents, guardians, and sponsors can also use this notice to finalize arrangements for tuition payments, hostel bookings, and other logistics. By setting the date nearly three weeks ahead of time, the university ensures that every stakeholder—students, staff, and service providers—has ample opportunity to prepare.

What Students Should Do Before Resumption

  1. Registration and Documentation:
Students are advised to gather all necessary documents such as admission letters, course registration forms, and any outstanding fees or receipts. Ensuring that these papers are in order will help avoid delays once the session begins.

  2. Health and Safety Preparations:
FUOYE emphasizes a safe and healthy learning environment. Returning students should take note of any health requirements, including routine medical checks if needed, and new students should be ready for medical clearance at the university health centre.

  3. Accommodation Arrangements:
Whether you are staying in the university’s halls of residence or off-campus, now is the time to secure accommodation. The earlier you confirm your housing, the smoother your transition will be when lectures begin.

  4. Financial Planning:
Tuition, departmental fees, and other charges should be settled before or immediately after arrival. Early payment helps students avoid last-minute queues and penalties.

Key Dates to Remember

  • Monday, 6th October 2025: Official resumption and start of first-semester registration.

  • Two-week registration window: Students should complete all registration activities within the time frame that will be announced by the academic office.

  • Commencement of Lectures: While the circular highlights the resumption date, lectures are expected to commence soon after students complete their registrations, so early arrival is essential.

Words from the Registrar

In the circular, the Registrar, Mr. Mufutau A. Ibrahim, expressed the university’s commitment to a smooth start of the academic year and urged students to “take note of this and comply accordingly.” His signature on the memo underlines the authenticity of the announcement and assures students that the date is final, barring unforeseen circumstances.

Preparing for a Successful Session

The beginning of a new session is more than just returning to classrooms. It is a chance for students to set new academic goals, plan for internships, participate in student organizations, and explore leadership opportunities. FUOYE is known for its vibrant campus life and robust academic programmes, and the 2025/2026 session promises to continue that tradition of excellence.

Students are encouraged to:

  • Review their academic performance from the previous year and set realistic goals for improvement.

  • Balance academics and extracurricular activities to develop leadership and social skills.

  • Take advantage of university resources such as the library, counselling services, and research centres.

Advice to New Students

For those who have just been admitted, this is the beginning of an exciting journey. FUOYE’s environment is friendly and academically stimulating. Fresh students should pay attention to orientation schedules, familiarize themselves with the campus layout, and adhere strictly to all university rules and regulations.

Closing Remark

The official resumption date of Monday, 6th October, 2025 is now confirmed. All students—freshers and returning alike—are strongly advised to make the necessary preparations to ensure a smooth start to the academic year. By arriving on time, completing registration promptly, and participating fully in the first week’s activities, students will be well-positioned for success throughout the 2025/2026 session.

FUOYE management welcomes everyone back to campus and looks forward to a productive, peaceful, and rewarding academic year.
