The Management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has successfully negotiated a final extension for its students to access the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). According to a special bulletin released on Friday, May 8, 2026, the application portal has been reopened to ensure no eligible student is left behind for the 2025/2026 academic session.

• Banking Restrictions: The use of microfinance wallet accounts (e.g., OPay, Moniepoint, PalmPay) is strongly discouraged. Students are advised to use traditional commercial bank accounts for disbursements.

• Data Entry Precautions: Avoid using special characters (e.g., @, #, $, %, &) in the name fields or any other data blocks. These characters can trigger system errors within the NELFUND portal.

• Security & Contact: Ensure the use of an accurate and active email address. Keep passwords secure, as they are required for all future status tracking.
