BAUCHI STATE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION ANNOUNCES BECE AND BAICE ADMISSION FORM
The Bauchi State Ministry of Education, under the leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim (Chikasoro Bauchi), has formally ratified the commencement of the registration exercise for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Basic Arabic and Islamic Certificate Examination (BAICE).
This directive is issued to all principals of public and private junior secondary schools across the state. The Ministry emphasizes that this registration is the primary gateway for students to transition from basic education to senior secondary levels, and strict adherence to the established timeline and fee structure is mandatory.
REGISTRATION TIMELINE AND PORTAL STATUS
The Ministry has activated the digital registration portal to facilitate a seamless enrollment process. School administrators are urged to begin the data entry for all eligible candidates immediately to avoid the typical last-minute technical congestion.
-
Commencement Date: March 25, 2026.
-
Closing Date: April 30, 2026.
-
Status: The portal is currently OPEN and receiving applications.
STANDARDIZED FEE SCHEDULE AND TRANSPARENCY
To ensure affordability and prevent the exploitation of parents and guardians, the Ministry has released a “Zero-Tolerance” fee structure. These rates are final and inclusive of all administrative charges for the examinations.
| School Category | Approved Registration Fee |
| Public Schools | N2,000.00 |
| Private Schools | N3,000.00 |
REGULATORY WARNING AND ENFORCEMENT
The Honourable Commissioner has issued a Stern Warning to all school heads, managers, and administrators regarding the collection of fees. The Ministry’s stance on financial transparency is absolute:
-
No Overcharging: No student in a public school is to be charged more than the approved N2,000.00.
-
Sanctions: Any school found violating this standardized fee structure—whether through “administrative levies” or “processing fees”—will face immediate and severe sanctions from the Ministry.
-
Parental Vigilance: Parents and guardians are encouraged to report any school demanding payments in excess of the state-approved rates.
ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTIVE FOR PRINCIPALS
Principals are the primary custodians of this exercise. To ensure a successful flagging-off, they must:
-
Verify the eligibility of all JSS 3 candidates.
-
Ensure all bio-data and subject selections are accurately captured on the portal.
-
Complete all registrations before the April 30th deadline, as no extensions have been guaranteed.
CONCLUSION: STRENGTHENING BASIC EDUCATION IN BAUCHI
The 2026 BECE and BAICE registration exercise is a critical component of the state’s educational roadmap. By maintaining a transparent and affordable process, the Bauchi State Ministry of Education aims to ensure that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, has the opportunity to certify their basic education.
