BABA-AHMED UNIVERSITY, KANO ANNOUNCES NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
The Management of Baba-Ahmed University (BAUK) has announced the introduction of two new undergraduate programmes as part of its efforts to expand academic opportunities and respond to the growing demand for professionals in the legal and security sectors.
According to the University, the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Criminology and Security Studies will officially commence in September 2026.
New Programmes to Strengthen Academic Offerings
The University stated that the addition of the two programmes represents a significant milestone in the institution’s academic development and demonstrates its commitment to providing quality education that addresses contemporary issues in justice, security, governance, and public policy.
The programmes are designed to equip students with sound theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to excel in their respective fields.
Career Opportunities for Graduates
The LL.B. programme will provide students with a solid foundation in legal education and prepare them for careers in legal practice and related professions.
Similarly, the B.Sc. in Criminology and Security Studies is aimed at producing graduates with expertise in crime prevention, criminal justice, security management, intelligence, and public safety.
Graduates of the programmes are expected to pursue careers in areas such as:

The Vice-Chancellor of Baba-Ahmed University, Prof. Adamu Idris Tanko, FRGS, FANG, confirmed that additional information regarding admission requirements, programme curriculum, and application procedures will be made available by the University in due course.
