AIR FORCE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES RESUMPTION DATE FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) has announced Monday, 19th October 2026 as the resumption date for all undergraduate and Diploma students for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The announcement was contained in a resumption notice signed by the Registrar, Air Commodore I. Shehu, directing students to take note of the scheduled dates for resumption, registration and the commencement of first-semester lectures.

AFIT STUDENTS TO RESUME OCTOBER 19

According to the institute, all undergraduate and Diploma students are expected to resume on Monday, 19th October 2026 for the commencement of activities for the new academic session.

Students are advised to make the necessary preparations ahead of the resumption date and ensure compliance with all academic and registration requirements.

REGISTRATION TO RUN FROM OCTOBER 19 TO 30

The students’ portal will be opened for registration from Monday, 19th October to Friday, 30th October 2026.

Students are expected to complete their registration within this period to avoid being affected by the late registration provisions.

AFIT has advised students to take note of the registration window and complete all necessary processes before the portal closes for the normal registration period.

FIRST SEMESTER LECTURES BEGIN NOVEMBER 2

The institute has scheduled the commencement of first-semester lectures for Monday, 2nd November 2026.

AFIT also stated that the mandatory 75 per cent attendance requirement will commence from the first day of lectures.

The stipulated attendance requirement qualifies students to sit for the semester examinations. Students are therefore expected to attend lectures regularly from the beginning of the semester.

LATE REGISTRATION ATTRACTS ₦10,000

Students who fail to complete their registration within the normal registration period will have an opportunity to register late.

Late registration will run from Monday, 2nd November to Friday, 6th November 2026.

According to the institute, students registering during this period will be required to pay a ₦10,000 late registration fee.

Students are therefore encouraged to complete their registration between October 19 and October 30 to avoid the additional charge.

AFIT STUDENTS’ PORTAL TO CLOSE NOVEMBER 7

The students’ portal will be subsequently closed for registration on Saturday, 7th November 2026.

Students are advised to complete their registration before the portal closure and ensure that they meet all relevant academic requirements.

Students are particularly advised to complete their registration within the normal registration period and ensure that they maintain the required attendance once lectures commence.
