AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY, ZARIA ISSUES IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS OF THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
The management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has issued an important notice to all prospective students participating in the 2026/2027 admission exercise, urging them to log in to the University’s Post-UTME portal and verify their screening status.
According to the University’s Special Bulletin dated Wednesday, 19th August, 2026, candidates whose screening has been successfully completed will see a confirmation indicating that their O’Level results have been screened. However, candidates whose results have not been screened are advised to immediately review their applications and correct any identified issues to avoid delays in the admission process.
Reasons Why Your Result May Not Have Been Screened
The University explained that candidates may experience screening issues for any of the following reasons:
- Failure to upload a scanned copy of the O’Level result after entering the grades.
- Differences between the grades entered during registration and those on the uploaded O’Level result.
- Uploading irrelevant documents such as examination cards, acknowledgment slips or JAMB registration slips instead of the actual O’Level result.
- Incorrect UTME or O’Level subject combinations for the chosen course.
- Major deficiencies in the required O’Level credits.
- Indicating two sittings but uploading only one result.
- Uploading handwritten O’Level results instead of official printouts issued by the examination body.
- Uploading incomplete, blurred, faded or illegible O’Level results.
Candidates affected by any of these issues have been advised to revisit the Post-UTME portal immediately and make the necessary corrections, as failure to do so may prevent the University from processing their admission.
Candidates Who Used Email Instead of JAMB Registration Number Must Re-Register
The University further disclosed that candidates who mistakenly used their email addresses instead of their JAMB Registration Numbers while registering for the screening exercise must register again.
According to ABU, such registrations are considered invalid and will not be processed for admission.
Candidates With Wrong Subject Combinations Should Change Course
Candidates whose UTME or O’Level subject combinations do not satisfy the requirements for their preferred programmes have also been advised to change to programmes for which they are qualified.
The University equally urged candidates and cyber café operators to ensure that all information entered during registration is accurate and that all required documents are properly uploaded.
Upload Your O’Level Results Immediately
Candidates who have not uploaded their O’Level results were advised to do so without delay to enable the University process their admission.
Those awaiting the release of their O’Level results should wait until the results are available before completing the upload process.
