AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY (ABU), ZARIA INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION PART-TIME, DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Institute of Education, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its Part-Time, Long Vacation Training (LVT), Certificate, Diploma, and Higher Professional Diploma programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for admission into the various programmes offered by the Institute. Prospective applicants are advised to carefully study the admission requirements for their preferred programme before completing the application process.

Available Programmes

The Institute is offering admission into the following programmes:

• Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) – Weekend/Part-Time
• Certificate in Imamship Education (CIE) – Weekend/Part-Time
• Certificate in Arabic Calligraphy Education (ACE)
• Competency Certificate in Digital Pedagogy (CDP)

Entry Requirements

1. Professional Diploma in Education (PDE)

Applicants must possess any of the following qualifications:

• Advanced Diploma
• Higher National Diploma (HND)
• A recognized Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

The programme provides specialization options in secondary education, basic education, Islamic education, and university education.

• Duration: One academic session (2 semesters)
• Tuition Fee: ₦42,500

2. Certificate in Imamship Education (CIE)

Applicants must possess:

• Primary School Leaving Certificate
• Basic knowledge of Islamic studies
• Duration: Six (6) months (2 semesters)
• Tuition Fee: ₦57,500

3. Competency Certificate in Digital Pedagogy (CDP)

Applicants must possess:

• A minimum of a First Degree or its equivalent in any field of study.
• Duration: Six (6) months (2 semesters)
• Tuition Fee: ₦57,500

4. Certificate in Arabic Calligraphy Education (ACE)

Applicants must possess:

• A minimum of four (4) credit passes in SSCE.
• Knowledge of the Arabic Language will be an added advantage.
• Duration: Six (6) months (2 semesters)
• Tuition Fee: ₦57,500

Method of Application

Interested applicants are required to complete their application online through the Ahmadu Bello University application portal.

Application Procedure

• Visit the ABU application portal at https://portal.abu.edu.ng/forms
• Click on Start Application to create an account.
• Generate your Transaction ID (RRR).
• Proceed to any commercial bank or approved payment channel to pay the non-refundable application fee of ₦2,500 using the generated RRR.
• Return to the portal to complete and submit your application form after successful payment.

Application Fee

• Amount: ₦2,500 (Non-refundable)

Closing Date

The sale of application forms will close two (2) months from the date of the advertisement. Interested candidates are therefore advised to complete their applications well before the deadline.
