AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY (ABU) BEGINS UPLOADING NAMES ON JAMB CAPS FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has reportedly commenced uploading candidates’ names to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Central Admissions Processing System (JAMB CAPS) for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The development is important for candidates who participated in the university’s 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise and are awaiting admission decisions.

However, candidates should note that the appearance of names on JAMB CAPS may occur in stages, and not all applicants will necessarily receive admission updates at the same time.

How to Check ABU Admission Status on JAMB CAPS

Candidates seeking admission into Ahmadu Bello University can follow these steps to check their admission status:

1. Visit the JAMB e-Facility portal.
2. Log in using the email address and password associated with their JAMB profile.
3. Select Check Admission Status or access the CAPS section.
4. Click on Access my CAPS.
5. Select Admission Status to see whether an admission offer is available.
6. If admission has been offered, follow the instructions displayed to accept or reject the offer.

Candidates who cannot access CAPS properly on a mobile phone may need to switch their browser to desktop mode.

What Candidates Should Do While Waiting for Admission

Applicants are advised to take the following steps while monitoring their admission status:

• Check JAMB CAPS regularly: Admission updates may appear at different times for different candidates.
• Confirm O’Level results: Ensure the correct results have been uploaded to JAMB and that the relevant subject requirements are satisfied.
• Check the ABU screening portal: Review any outstanding screening issues and follow the university’s instructions.
• Verify admission offers: Accept an offer only after confirming that the details displayed are correct.
• Avoid unofficial information: Do not pay individuals who claim they can guarantee admission or influence the admission process.

Is the ABU 2026/2027 Admission List Out?

The reported commencement of uploads on JAMB CAPS does not necessarily mean that the complete ABU admission list has been released.

Candidates should check their individual admission status through JAMB CAPS and monitor the university’s official communication channels for confirmed updates.

An admission status that currently shows “Not Admitted” does not automatically mean that a candidate has been rejected. Applicants should continue checking for updates during the admission process.

Conclusion

Candidates seeking admission into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, for the 2026/2027 academic session are encouraged to monitor JAMB CAPS and the university’s screening portal regularly.

They should also ensure that their O’Level results and other required information are accurate and complete.

Important: The commencement of ABU’s 2026/2027 JAMB CAPS uploads has not been independently confirmed by an official university announcement in the sources reviewed. Candidates should verify their status directly through JAMB and ABU before relying on the report.
