OLUSEGUN AGAGU UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (OAUSTECH) RELEASES APPROVED ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION 

The Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, has released the academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session. The calendar sets out the dates for resumption, registration, lectures, examinations and other major activities for the first and second semesters.

According to the calendar, academic activities for the new session will resume on Monday, 2nd November 2026, while first semester lectures will commence on Monday, 9th November 2026.

FIRST SEMESTER ACTIVITIES

• Monday, 2nd November 2026: Resumption of academic activities and registration of old and new students for the 2026/2027 academic session.

• Monday, 9th November 2026: Commencement of first semester lectures.

• Monday, 7th to Wednesday, 9th December 2026: Orientation programme for newly admitted students (100 Level and Direct Entry).

• Friday, 18th December 2026: Release of the first draft of the first semester examination timetable and end of normal registration.

• Monday, 21st December 2026 to Sunday, 3rd January 2027: Christmas and New Year break (2 weeks).

• Monday, 4th January 2027: Late registration begins.

• Friday, 15th January 2027: Release of the final draft of the first semester examination timetable.

• Monday, 18th to Friday, 22nd January 2027: Lectures continue and mid-semester test.

• Wednesday, 3rd February 2027: Matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students.

• Monday, 8th to Friday, 12th February 2027: Lecture-free week.

• Monday, 15th February to Saturday, 6th March 2027: First semester examination.

• Thursday, 4th March 2027: Convocation day.

• Monday, 8th to Sunday, 21st March 2027: First semester break (2 weeks).

SECOND SEMESTER ACTIVITIES

• Monday, 22nd March 2027: Resumption for second semester and registration of courses.

• Tuesday, 30th March 2027: Commencement of second semester lectures.

• Wednesday, 21st April 2027: Senate meeting for consideration of first semester results.

• Friday, 23rd April 2027: Release of the first draft of the second semester examination timetable and end of normal registration.

• Monday, 26th April 2027: Late registration begins.

• Monday, 3rd to Friday, 7th May 2027: Lectures continue and mid-semester test.

• Monday, 24th May 2027: Release of the final draft of the second semester examination timetable.

• Monday, 14th to Friday, 18th June 2027: Lecture-free week.

• Monday, 21st June to Saturday, 10th July 2027: Second semester examination.

• Wednesday, 25th August 2027: Senate meeting for consideration of second semester results.

NOTE ON SENATE MEETINGS

The university stated that the Senate meeting comes up on the last Wednesday of every month.

WHAT STUDENTS SHOULD DO

Students are advised to take note of the dates in the calendar and plan their academic activities accordingly. In particular, they should do the following:

1. Resume on time and complete their registration within the normal registration period to avoid late registration.

2. Keep an eye on the release of the examination timetables for both semesters.

3. Prepare ahead for the mid-semester tests, which hold during the lecture weeks stated in the calendar.

4. Newly admitted students should take note of the orientation programme and the matriculation ceremony.

5. Rely only on the official channels of the university for any update or adjustment to the calendar.
