KWARA STATE COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCES, OKE-ODE (KWCONOO) RELEASES COMMUNITY MIDWIFERY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION DATE FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
The Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode (KWCONOO), has announced Wednesday, September 16, 2026, as the date for the entrance examination for candidates seeking admission into its Community Midwifery Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The entrance examination will be a written examination and will commence at 8:00 a.m. prompt at the IOT, UNILORIN Mini Campus, which currently serves as the temporary premises of the College.
The examination details have also been reported in an admission update published on September 11, 2026.
KWCONOO COMMUNITY MIDWIFERY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION DATE
According to the College Provost, Alhaji Olanrewaju AbdulQuadri, the entrance examination is scheduled as follows:
Date: Wednesday, September 16, 2026
Time: 8:00 a.m. prompt
Venue: IOT, UNILORIN Mini Campus
Programme: Community Midwifery
Academic Session: 2026/2027
The IOT, UNILORIN Mini Campus is currently being used as the temporary premises of the Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode.
APPLICANTS ADVISED TO PREPARE ADEQUATELY
The Provost advised all applicants to make adequate preparations ahead of the entrance examination.
Candidates are encouraged to arrive at the examination venue early and conduct themselves responsibly throughout the exercise.
Applicants have also been advised to carefully study and understand the questions before attempting them and to remain calm during the examination.
WARNING AGAINST EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE
The College has warned applicants against examination malpractice and other forms of misconduct.
According to the Provost, the institution will not tolerate any form of examination malpractice during the exercise.
Candidates are therefore expected to comply with all examination rules and instructions to avoid disqualification.
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY MIDWIFERY PROGRAMME
The Community Midwifery Programme is one of the programmes approved for commencement at the Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode, following a successful accreditation exercise by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
The College announced in June 2026 that the NMCN had approved the commencement of both the Public Health Nursing and Community Midwifery programmes after the institution satisfied the required standards.
TWO-YEAR COMMUNITY MIDWIFERY PROGRAMME
The Community Midwifery Programme is a two-year programme designed to train competent midwives who can provide essential maternal and newborn healthcare services at the community level.
Successful graduates of the programme will be awarded the Licensed Community Midwife (LCM) qualification.
The programme is expected to contribute to improving access to skilled maternal and newborn healthcare services within local communities.
NO JAMB REQUIRED
Applicants seeking admission into the Community Midwifery Programme are not required to sit for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
Candidates with the requisite O’Level science qualifications are eligible to apply, subject to the admission requirements prescribed by the College and the relevant regulatory body.
The College had previously confirmed that Community Midwifery applicants could apply without JAMB UTME, while registered nurses seeking the Post-Basic Public Health Nursing programme would be subject to its own admission requirements.

Candidates should take note of the examination venue and ensure they arrive early enough to complete any necessary registration or verification before the examination begins.
