LASU 127th Inaugural Lecture: Professor Enikuomehin to Discuss Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Human Thought
Lagos State University (LASU) is set to hold its 127th Inaugural Lecture on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, with Professor Oluwatoyin Ayokunle Enikuomehin of the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, scheduled to deliver the lecture.
The inaugural lecture, titled “Thinking Machines and the Future of Thinking: Cyberphysicalism, the Transformation of Human Thought and the Emergence of an Artificial Intelligence-Driven Algorithmic Society,” will explore the growing influence of artificial intelligence on human thinking, society and the future of technology.
Professor Enikuomehin, a Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Computing, will examine the changing relationship between humans and intelligent machines, with particular attention to how advances in artificial intelligence and algorithmic systems are transforming the way people think, interact and make decisions.
The lecture is expected to provide insights into the emerging role of AI-driven technologies in contemporary society and the implications of increasingly intelligent computational systems for the future of human thought.
The event will take place at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos, and is scheduled to commence at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Guests attending the lecture are expected to be seated by 1:30 p.m.
The 127th Inaugural Lecture is part of LASU’s academic tradition of providing distinguished scholars with a platform to share their expertise, research findings and perspectives on issues of significance to academia and society.
