n a landmark achievement for the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation status to all academic programmes assessed during the 2025 exercise. This 100% success rate solidifies the University’s position as a center for academic excellence and regulatory compliance in Nigeria.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, described this development as a significant milestone that reflects the institution’s commitment to growth, quality assurance, and adherence to national benchmarks.

I. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS TO SUCCESS

The Vice-Chancellor attributed this triumph to a culture of collective responsibility and strategic leadership, specifically acknowledging:

  • Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman (Immediate Past VC): Credited for his visionary leadership during the period the accreditation exercises were conducted.

  • Prof. Ilemona Adofu (DVC, Academic Affairs): Commended for his resilience and diligence as the former Director of Academic Planning in coordinating the complex accreditation processes.

  • Faculty Leadership: Deans and Heads of Departments were lauded for their dedication and for ensuring that all programmes met the required NUC standards.

II. IMPLICATIONS OF FULL ACCREDITATION

The attainment of full accreditation status is a vital “seal of quality” for the University. It signifies:

  1. Academic Integrity: All programmes meet the NUC’s Minimum Academic Standards for curriculum, staffing, and physical facilities.

  2. Resource Sufficiency: The result validates the University’s sustained investment in human capital and infrastructure development.

  3. Student Assurance: Current and prospective students can be confident that their degrees are fully recognized for employment, NYSC mobilization, and postgraduate studies.

III. THE ROAD AHEAD: CONSOLIDATION & GROWTH

Prof. Kida has assured stakeholders—including students, parents, and the host community—that FULafia will not rest on its laurels. The University plans to:

  • Maintain Standards: Continue upholding high academic standards in teaching and research.

  • Sustain Infrastructure: Build upon current developments to ensure a world-class learning environment.

  • Enhance Research: Foster a climate of innovation and community service that reflects the University’s core mission.

CONCLUSION: A TRIUMPH OF EXCELLENCE

This 100% success rate is a clear indication that the Federal University of Lafia is working aggressively toward its mission of becoming a world-class institution. The Management congratulates the entire University community on this historic achievement.

Please be guided accordingly.
