The journey into higher education is a momentous occasion, and for the newest members of the Nile University of Nigeria community, that journey officially becomes official on Monday, 26th January 2026.

The 17th Matriculation Ceremony is the day you transition from being an applicant to becoming a “bonafide student.” It is a day of tradition, pride, and promising futures.

Ceremony Schedule: Know Your Session

To ensure everyone has a seat and a great experience, the university has divided the day into two distinct sessions at the Convocation Ground.

Morning Session: 10:00 AM

This session is dedicated to students in the following fields:

  • College of Health Sciences

  • Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

  • Faculty of Environmental Sciences

  • Faculty of Law

  • Faculty of Management Sciences

Afternoon Session: 2:00 PM

The second session welcomes students from:

  • Faculty of Computing Studies

  • Faculty of Engineering

  • Faculty of Science

Important Note: Punctuality is key! Students are usually expected to be seated and in their academic gowns at least 30 minutes before their session starts to participate in the academic procession.

Your Matriculation Checklist

To make sure your day goes as smoothly as possible, here are the essential steps you need to take:

  1. Academic Gowns: You must wear the official Nile University matriculation gown. You can typically collect these from your Faculty Office or the Student Affairs Division. Ensure you pick yours up a few days early.

  2. Screening Finalization: Ensure you have completed all your physical documentation and verification at the enrollment center. You cannot matriculate if your screening isn’t finished!

  3. The Matriculation Oath: During the ceremony, you will stand and recite the official oath. This is your formal promise to follow the university’s rules and pursue your studies with integrity.

  4. Signing the Register: After the ceremony, you will sign the Matriculation Register. This is the legal record of your admission.

  5. ID Card Collection: Usually, once the ceremony and register signing are complete, you become eligible to receive your official University ID card.

A Word of Wisdom from the Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dilli Dogo, along with the Board of Trustees and the Governing Council, extends a warm invitation to all parents and guardians. This is a day for families to celebrate the hard work that led to this admission.

As Prof. Dogo often emphasizes, Nile University is committed to providing world-class academic programs and state-of-the-art facilities. Use this day to reflect on the opportunities ahead and the impact you want to make on society.
