What Exactly is Matriculation?

If you are a 10-year-old reading this for an older sibling, you might be wondering what this big word means.

Think of matriculation as a “Signing Day.” It is the moment the University writes your name in their official “Big Book” of students. By taking the matriculation oath, you are making a promise to:

1. Study hard and follow the school rules.

2. Respect your teachers and fellow students.

3. Protect the name and reputation of OAUSTECH.

Until you participate in this ceremony and sign the register, you are just a “candidate.” After the ceremony, you are a Bonafide Student!

You must wear the official OAUSTECH matriculation gown. You can usually collect these from your Faculty Office or the Student Affairs Division. Make sure to get yours a few days before the ceremony so it fits perfectly.
