The Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), a prestigious institution committed to academic excellence, hereby invites suitably qualified candidates to participate in the 2025/2026 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise. This invitation is extended to candidates who made COOU their First Choice Institution in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as well as eligible candidates who did not initially select the University but are willing to effect a change of institution through the appropriate JAMB procedures.

To be eligible for the screening exercise, candidates must have attained a minimum UTME score of 150 for most programmes offered by the University. However, candidates aspiring to study highly competitive courses such as Law, Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Pharmaceutical Sciences must possess a minimum score of 200 to be eligible to apply. Those who did not originally choose COOU but wish to apply can do so, provided they visit any JAMB-accredited CBT centre to carry out a change of institution to COOU.

It is important to note that only candidates who are at least 16 years old by September 30th, 2025, are eligible to participate in the screening. Eligible candidates are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00) only. This payment is to be made through the REMITA platform at any commercial bank or using an ATM card online.

These candidates must be in possession of valid academic qualifications such as OND, HND, A’ Level, or a First Degree in relevant disciplines. The credentials must meet the specific requirements of their intended course of study.

Applicants are strongly advised to regularly check the official COOU website for updates regarding screening dates, venues, and further instructions. The University will not be held responsible for any candidate’s failure to stay updated through the proper communication channels.

This announcement signals another important step in the University’s commitment to maintaining a transparent and merit-based admission process. Candidates and parents are encouraged to follow the guidelines strictly and to avoid falling victim to unauthorized individuals or websites claiming to offer admission assistance.
