The Management of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), through the Institute of Education, wishes to inform the general public, prospective applicants, and all interested candidates that applications are now being invited from suitably qualified persons for admission into its various Part-Time Degree and Sub-Degree Diploma Programmes for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.
This opportunity provides flexible learning arrangements for candidates who wish to further their education while maintaining their professional, family, or business commitments. 🧾 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for admission into the above programmes, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. For B.A. (Ed.), B.Sc. (Ed.), and B.Ed. Degree Programmes
Applicants must possess any of the following qualifications:
a. Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE):

Minimum of Merit in two relevant teaching subjects.
b. A-Level Qualifications:
-
Two passes in GCE/IJMB/NABTEB/JUPEB or any recognized equivalent.
c. National Diploma (ND/OND):
-
Acceptable for selected courses such as:
-
Arabic
-
Christian Studies
-
History
-
Human Kinetics
-
Health Education
-
Islamic Studies
-
Computer Science Education
-
Educational Technology
-
Technology Education
-
In addition to any of the above, every applicant must possess at least five (5) O’Level Credit Passes in the following subjects:

English Language

Mathematics
-
Three other relevant subjects (depending on the chosen programme).
For candidates applying with “A” Level GCE/IJMB/NABTEB/JUPEB, a minimum of seven (7) points is required. Those applying with ND or HND must have a minimum of Lower Credit classification.
2. For Sub-Degree Diploma Programmes
a. Human Kinetics and Health Education:

At least five (5) O’Level Credit passes in SSCE/GCE/TCII/NABTEB or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
b. Arabic Education:
-
WASC/GCE/TCII with at least five (5) O’Level Credit passes including English Language and Mathematics,
OR -
Credit/Merit in Higher Islamic Studies Certificate (HISC) in at least five subjects, one of which must be Arabic.

Diploma in the Teaching of Arabic or Islamic Studies from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria is also acceptable.
c. Photography, Instructional Radio & Television Production, and Creative Arts:

At least five (5) O’Level Credit passes in SSCE/GCE/TCII/NABTEB or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
Important Note:
A minimum of Credit passes in both English Language and Mathematics, along with three (3) relevant subjects, is required for all Sub-Degree and Degree programmes.
Candidates who do not meet this requirement are not eligible for admission consideration.

Carefully fill in all required information and upload necessary documents.

Review your entries before submission to avoid errors.
Applicants for undergraduate admissions are also required to register online with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Please note that this registration does not involve sitting for the UTME examination.
To complete the JAMB registration, visit the JAMB e-Facility Portal via http://www.jamb.org.ng/eFacility/Login and follow the provided instructions carefully.
💳 APPLICATION FEES

Undergraduate and Sub-Degree Diploma Programmes: ₦15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Naira only).

Payment must be made online using an ATM card (MasterCard or Visa Card).

Cash payments are not allowed.
Applicants are strongly advised to retain their payment receipts and application printouts as proof of successful submission.
⏰ DURATION OF PROGRAMMES
The duration of each programme varies depending on the entry qualifications of the candidate:

Four (4) Years: For candidates admitted through Direct Entry with qualifications such as GCE/IJMB/NABTEB/JUPEB/ND/OND or equivalent.

Five (5) Years: For candidates applying with O’Level qualifications who have at least five credits including English and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.
The part-time mode is designed to accommodate working professionals and individuals seeking flexible study options without interrupting their careers.
