FRANCO BRITISH INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY, KADUNA ANNOUCES ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

Starting university is like starting a giant adventure in a brand-new world. To help you find your way, the leaders at Franco-British International University (FBIU) in Kaduna have planned a very special day just for you! It is called an Orientation Programme.

Think of orientation like a “manual” or a “treasure map” for your school. Instead of just throwing you into classes, the university wants to sit down with you and explain how everything works. They want to show you where to go, who to talk to if you need help, and how to be a great student.

When and Where Is the Big Meeting?

You need to make sure you have the right date and time so you don’t miss any of the helpful tips the teachers are going to share.

  • The Date: Thursday, January 29, 2026.

  • The Time: 10:00 a.m. Prompt. (This means the meeting starts exactly when the clock hits 10!)

  • The Venue: The University Campus at R2, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Street, Off Nnamdi Azikiwe Western Bypass, Kaduna State.

The school says that all new students should try to be in their seats early. If you arrive at 9:30 a.m., you will have plenty of time to find a good spot, meet some of your new classmates, and get ready to listen.

Who Should Come to the Orientation?

This meeting is for all the “freshmen”—that is what we call students who are in their very first year. If you are studying in any of these four big groups (called Schools), this meeting is for you:

The School of Computing This is for the students who love computers, coding, and learning how technology works.

The School of Social and Management Sciences This is for the students who want to learn about business, how people live together, and how to be great leaders.

The School of Health Sciences This is for the students who want to learn about the human body and how to keep people healthy.

The School of Nursing Sciences This is for the students who are training to become nurses and take care of people in hospitals.

What Will You Learn at Orientation?

You might be thinking, “Do I really need to go?” The answer is a big YES! Here is why:

First, you will learn about the Academic Structure. This is just a fancy way of saying you will learn how your classes are set up and how your grades will be counted. Second, you will hear about the Regulations. These are the rules of the school. Knowing the rules helps you stay out of trouble and keep your grades high. Finally, you will learn about Campus Life. You will find out about the fun things to do, where the best places to eat are, and how to make new friends.

Helpful Tips for Your First Day

To make sure your orientation day is the best it can be, follow these simple steps:

  1. Bring a Notebook: The teachers will share some very important secrets about doing well in school. You will want to write them down so you don’t forget!

  2. Wear Something Nice: You only get one chance to make a first impression. Wear something that makes you feel smart and confident.

  3. Ask Questions: If you don’t understand something about the school, this is the best time to ask! The teachers are there specifically to help you.

  4. Say Hello: Everyone at the orientation is new, just like you. Don’t be shy—say hi to the person sitting next to you. They might become your best friend!

The Franco-British International University is very excited to have you on campus. They have built a beautiful school in Kaduna just for you, and they can’t wait to see you start your journey to becoming a professional. Welcome to FBIU!
