FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, AYEDE ANNOUNCES COMBINED MAIDEN CONVOCATION CEREMONY


The Management and Academic Board of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, are pleased to announce the institution’s Maiden Convocation Ceremonies. This landmark event marks a significant chapter in the history of the polytechnic, as it celebrates its first set of graduates and confers National Diplomas, academic prizes, and prestigious honorary fellowships upon deserving individuals.

This week-long celebration is designed to honor the hard work of the students, the dedication of the faculty, and the support of the host community. The ceremonies are structured to integrate spiritual, athletic, and academic activities, culminating in the formal grand finale.


Official Schedule of Events

To ensure a well-coordinated celebration, the polytechnic has outlined a six-day itinerary. Graduates, parents, and the general public are invited to participate in the following activities:

Day 1: Sunday, 8th February 2026 The festivities begin with a Convocation Church Service. This session is dedicated to offering thanks for the successful completion of the academic session and the growth of the young institution.

Day 2: Monday, 9th February 2026 The formal media engagement will take place via a Press Conference. During this event, the Rector and principal officers will highlight the polytechnic’s achievements, its future development plans, and the statistics of the graduating class.

Day 3: Tuesday, 10th February 2026 To foster camaraderie and campus spirit, a Novelty Match will be held between the Teaching and Non-teaching staff. This sporting event provides a relaxed environment for the polytechnic community to interact ahead of the formal proceedings.

Day 4: Wednesday, 11th February 2026 The intellectual peak of the week is the Convocation Lecture. A distinguished guest lecturer will address a contemporary theme relevant to technical education and national development, providing the graduating class with final words of scholarly wisdom.

Day 5: Thursday, 12th February 2026 This is the Grand Finale: The Convocation Ceremony. The event will feature the formal award of National Diplomas, the presentation of prizes to best-behaving and highest-achieving students, and the conferment of fellowships.

Day 6: Friday, 13th February 2026 The ceremonies will conclude with a Special Juma’at Prayer, providing an opportunity for the Muslim community to offer prayers for the institution and the departing graduates.


Information for Graduating Students

As this is the maiden ceremony, all graduating students are reminded of the following protocols to ensure a smooth experience:

  • Academic Gowns: Graduates are expected to collect their convocation gowns and caps from their respective departments following the payment of the prescribed convocation fees.

  • Punctuality: For the main ceremony on Thursday, all graduands must be seated by 9:00 am to allow for the formal academic procession.

  • Registers: In line with standard polytechnic protocol, graduates must ensure they sign the necessary clearance forms to facilitate the collection of their original certificates after the ceremony.
