UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA (UNN) RELEASES POST-UTME SCREENING RESULTS FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has officially released the results of the recently conducted Post-UTME Screening Exercise for candidates seeking admission into the institution for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This announcement is important for all candidates who participated in the screening exercise as it provides them with the opportunity to confirm their performance and admission chances.
Why the Post-UTME Result Matters
The Post-UTME result is one of the key requirements used by UNN in admitting students into its various programmes. Alongside the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) score, O’Level results, and other screening criteria, the Post-UTME result determines whether a candidate meets the cut-off mark set for their chosen department.
For many aspirants, this stage is critical. Checking the result early allows them to know their admission prospects and prepare for the next steps, including acceptance, clearance, and resumption, if admitted.
Result Checking Fee
Candidates should note that the result can only be accessed after making a payment of ₦1,000 (One Thousand Naira only). This payment can be made at any of the designated banks, or more conveniently, through the Remita platform using an ATM card.
The fee serves as a processing charge for generating and accessing the screening results online.
Step-by-Step Guide on How to Check UNN Post-UTME Result
To avoid errors and difficulties, candidates are strongly advised to follow the procedure below carefully:
-
Visit the UNN Portal
Go to the official University of Nigeria Nsukka portal: 👉 www.unnportal.unn.edu.ng -
Navigate to Prospective Students
On the homepage, click on the “Prospective Students” tab. -
Access the Post-UTME Result Checker
Select the option that says “Check Post-UTME Result.” -
Enter Your JAMB Registration Number
Input your JAMB registration number correctly in the space provided. -
Generate an Invoice
The system will generate an invoice that contains your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number. -
Make Payment
You can proceed to make payment of ₦1,000 in two ways:-
Option A: Pay online instantly using your ATM card on the Remita platform.
-
Option B: Print out the invoice and take it to any commercial bank nationwide to make the payment.
-
-
Return to the Portal
After successful payment, return to the UNN portal. -
Log in Again
Enter your JAMB registration number in the required space. -
View Your Result
Your Post-UTME screening result will be displayed for you immediately. Candidates are advised to print out a copy of the result for record-keeping.
Important Notes for Candidates
-
Ensure you enter your JAMB registration number correctly to avoid errors in result retrieval.
-
Keep your RRR number and payment receipt safe in case of future reference or confirmation.
-
Use a reliable internet connection when accessing the UNN portal to avoid disruptions during the process.
-
Candidates who encounter any challenges in checking their results should contact UNN’s ICT support or visit the school’s ICT Centre for assistance.
What to Do After Checking Your Result
-
Compare with Departmental Cut-Off Marks
After viewing your result, check it against the departmental cut-off marks once they are released. This will give you an idea of your chances of being admitted into your chosen course. -
Upload O’Level Results on JAMB CAPS
Candidates must ensure their O’Level results are uploaded on JAMB CAPS, as failure to do so may hinder their admission. -
Monitor Your Admission Status on JAMB CAPS
Admission offers will be processed and confirmed through the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). Candidates should log in regularly to accept or reject admission offers once available. -
Stay Updated on UNN Admission Lists
The release of results is only the first step. The university will release admission lists in batches. Candidates are advised to follow official UNN channels, portals, and reliable educational news platforms for timely updates.
Advice to Candidates
The management of UNN has urged all candidates to remain calm and patient. The admission process is competitive, but fair. Scoring above the departmental cut-off increases one’s chances of gaining admission, but candidates who do not meet their chosen course cut-off should also explore other alternatives such as supplementary admission.
Parents and guardians are equally encouraged to guide their wards during this period to ensure they follow due processes and avoid falling victim to fraudsters who may claim to influence admission.
Conclusion
The release of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) Post-UTME results for the 2025/2026 academic session marks an important milestone in the admission journey of thousands of aspirants.
By following the simple result-checking procedure, candidates can now access their scores and take the next steps in securing admission into one of Nigeria’s most prestigious universities.
The University emphasizes transparency, merit, and fairness in its admission process. Candidates are therefore encouraged to remain hopeful, focused, and proactive while awaiting the release of admission lists.
📌 For more updates on UNN admissions, candidates should regularly visit the official UNN website and JAMB CAPS portal.
🎉 Congratulations to all candidates who performed excellently in the screening! Your dream of becoming a UNN Lion or Lioness is a step closer to reality.
