The announcement, issued from the Office of the Registrar through the P.A.R, Academic Affairs, Mr. Abdulkadir Ahmed (FCIA), confirms that the University Senate has approved the resumption of all lectures, assessments, and examinations with immediate effect. According to the statement, this directive is in line with the university’s commitment to maintaining academic stability and ensuring that students complete the ongoing academic session without further interruptions.
Background to the Announcement
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had embarked on a two-week warning strike to press home several long-standing demands from the Federal Government, including issues related to funding, payment of withheld salaries, revitalisation of public universities, and renegotiation of the 2009 FGN–ASUU agreement.
However, following a series of constructive engagements between ASUU representatives and the Federal Government, the union announced on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, that it had resolved to suspend the strike as a sign of goodwill and respect for the intervention of well-meaning Nigerians, parents, students, and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
The suspension of the strike paved the way for universities across the country, including FUDUTSE, to reopen and continue their academic programmes.

The university has made it clear that examinations will resume on Monday, October 27, 2025, exactly as previously scheduled in the academic calendar. Students are therefore advised to take this directive seriously and make the necessary travel or accommodation arrangements to avoid missing any examination papers.
Management emphasized that no complaints or excuses for late resumption will be entertained under any circumstance. Any student who fails to comply with this directive will bear full responsibility for any academic consequences that may arise.

The management of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua is delighted to inform all candidates who participated in the 2025/2026 Higher National Diploma (HND) screening exercise that the First Batch Admission List is officially out! ✅
Candidates can now check their names on the school notice boards within the campus.
📢 Important Information

Only candidates whose names appear on the admission list have been offered provisional admission.

Do not attempt to pay the acceptance fee until you have received your Admission Number.

The list of Admission Numbers for all successfully admitted candidates will be published on the official school website on Wednesday, 22nd October, 2025.

Once the Admission Numbers are released, admitted candidates will be able to proceed with payment of their acceptance fees and continue with other registration formalities.
💡 What to Do Next
1️⃣ Check your name on the notice board at the Polytechnic.
2️⃣ Wait for the release of your Admission Number on October 22, 2025.
3️⃣ After obtaining your Admission Number, proceed to pay your Acceptance Fee through the approved school payment channels.
4️⃣ Follow all further registration instructions from the Polytechnic.
