ADMIRALTY UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA (ADUN) ANNOUNCES 8TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY

Congratulations to all newly admitted students! You have worked hard to get here, and now it is time to make it official. The Management of Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) is proud to announce the 8th Matriculation Ceremony, a significant milestone that marks your formal entry into the university community.

This ceremony is more than just a tradition; it is the moment you take your official oath as a student and commit yourself to the excellence and discipline that ADUN stands for.

Event Details: When and Where?

Please take note of the following details to ensure you are part of this grand occasion:

  • Date: Friday, 23rd January 2026.

  • Time: 11:00 AM Prompt (Students are expected to be seated much earlier).

  • Venue: Vice Admiral Dele Joseph Ezoba Multipurpose Hall.

Important Note: Punctuality is a core value at ADUN. Please ensure you arrive early to participate in the academic procession and secure a good seat.

Your To-Do List Before Friday

To make your Matriculation Day stress-free and joyful, follow these simple steps:

1. Academic Gowns

You must wear the official ADUN academic gown to participate in the ceremony. Check with your Faculty Officer or the Student Affairs Division to collect your gown. Ensure it is clean and fits you well.

2. Dress Code

Underneath your academic gown, you are expected to dress professionally.

  • For Gentlemen: A formal suit or a long-sleeved shirt with a tie and trousers.

  • For Ladies: A smart dress or a suit (skirt or trousers) that reflects the university’s standard of modesty and professionalism.

3. The Matriculation Oath

During the event, you will stand to recite the Matriculation Oath. This is a solemn promise to follow the rules of the university and focus on your studies. Pay close attention to the words as they define your journey for the next few years.

4. Photographs and Memories

This is a day you will want to remember forever! While there will be time for photos after the ceremony, please remember that cameras and noise are usually restricted during the official event to maintain a peaceful environment.

What Does Matriculation Mean?

If you are a 10-year-old reading this for an older sibling, you might wonder what “Matriculation” means.

Imagine you are joining a very special club. The invitation was your admission letter. But the Matriculation Ceremony is like the “Signing Day.” It is the moment the school writes your name in their big official book (the Matricula). Once you sign that book, you are no longer just a guest; you are a permanent member of the university family!
