FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES, ILA-ORANGUN [FUHSI] GETS NUC APPROVAL FOR 8 NEW PROGRAMMES, SET TO ADMIT STUDENTS FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun (FUHSI) has secured approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence eight new academic programmes from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The approval, contained in a notice issued by the university’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, paves the way for the institution to commence admissions into the newly approved programmes.

FUHSI APPROVED NEW PROGRAMMES

The eight programmes approved by the NUC are:

1. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
2. B.SLT Speech and Language Therapy
3. B.O.T Occupational Therapy
4. B.Sc Health Administration and Hospital Management
5. B.Sc Social Work
6. B.Sc Medical Physics
7. B.Sc Chemistry
8. B.Sc Public Health

According to the university, the programmes are approved to commence from the 2026/2027 academic session.

FUHSI TO COMMENCE ADMISSION INTO NEW COURSES

The approval means prospective students may soon have the opportunity to apply for admission into the newly introduced programmes at FUHSI.

However, candidates are advised to await the university’s official announcement regarding the admission requirements, eligibility criteria, application process and commencement date for the new programmes.

The university management expressed appreciation to the Governing Council, Management and the entire FUHSI community for their support and encouragement towards the development.

The introduction of the programmes is expected to expand the range of academic opportunities available to students seeking health-related and science-based programmes at the university.
