UNIVERSITY OF OFFA, NIGERIA ANNOUNCES MAIDEN CONVOCATION CEREMONY, RELEASES PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

The University of Offa, Nigeria, has announced its maiden convocation ceremony, with a series of activities scheduled to take place from Wednesday, October 7 to Monday, October 12, 2026.

The maiden convocation ceremony is expected to bring together members of the University of Offa community, graduates, guests, stakeholders and other members of the public for a series of academic, professional, social and ceremonial activities.

According to the programme released by the university, the activities will include a press briefing, counselling and job training, exhibition, sports competition, special Juma’at prayer, the launching of the university’s N1 billion development plan, a special convocation dinner and award night, investiture of the Chancellor, convocation lecture and the main convocation ceremony.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2026

Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Event: Press Briefing
Venue: Senate Chamber

The convocation activities will officially commence with a press briefing at the Senate Chamber.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2026

Time: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Event: Counselling and Job Training
Venue: University Auditorium

Time: 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Event: Exhibition
Venue: Entrepreneurship Centre

Time: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Event: Intra-University Sports Competition
Venue: University Field

The second day of the programme will feature activities focused on counselling, career development, entrepreneurship and sporting activities.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2026

Event: Special Juma’at Prayer
Venue: University’s Central Mosque

A special Juma’at prayer will be held as part of the activities marking the maiden convocation.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2026

Event: Launching of UNIOFFA N1 Billion Development Plan

The Sunday programme will feature the official launching of the University of Offa N1 billion development plan, followed by a special convocation dinner and award night.

The final day will feature the investiture of the Chancellor, the convocation lecture and the main maiden convocation ceremony.
