The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has officially released the application form for admission into its 2026/2027 Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Foundation School Programme.

The university invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the one-year foundation programme, which provides an alternative pathway to Direct Entry admission into 200 Level at FUTO and other universities that recognize the JUPEB certificate.

According to the university, the programme is designed to equip candidates with the academic foundation required for university education while offering an opportunity to secure admission without sitting for another Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Who Can Apply?

Candidates applying for the FUTO JUPEB programme must possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects obtained in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two sittings.

The required subjects include:

• English Language
• Mathematics
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Biology

Applicants seeking admission into Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) must obtain the required five credits in one sitting.

Candidates awaiting the release of their O’Level results are also eligible to apply.

Available JUPEB Subject Combinations

Applicants are expected to choose subject combinations that correspond with their intended undergraduate programmes.

Approved combinations include:

• Biology, Chemistry and Physics (BCP) for Medicine, Biological Sciences, Agriculture and Health-related programmes.
• Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics (CMP) for Engineering, Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Information Technology and related courses.
