The Federal University Lokoja (FULOKOJA) has recorded another major academic milestone as the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted Full Accreditation to the University’s Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.) programme.

The approval was conveyed in an official letter dated 13th July, 2026, signed by the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, following the accreditation exercise conducted across Nigerian universities between October and November 2025.

According to the Commission, the Nursing Science programme successfully met all the required academic, professional, staffing, and infrastructural standards, earning Full Accreditation, which is valid for five (5) years.

The accreditation further strengthens the University’s growing reputation for academic excellence and confirms that the programme meets the quality assurance benchmarks established by the National Universities Commission for the training of professional nurses in Nigeria.

Vice-Chancellor Reacts

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, described the approval as a significant achievement in the University’s continuous pursuit of academic excellence and quality assurance.

With this approval, prospective students seeking admission into the Nursing Science programme at the Federal University Lokoja can be confident that the programme has been thoroughly evaluated and approved by the nation’s university regulatory body.

The accreditation status will remain valid for five years, after which the programme will undergo another accreditation exercise in line with the Commission’s quality assurance policy.
