AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY (ABU) RELEASES POST-UTME/DE ADMISSION FORM FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has officially released the registration details for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) Screening Exercise for candidates seeking admission into its undergraduate programmes.

According to a Special Bulletin issued by the university, online registration for the screening exercise will commence on Monday, 6th July, 2026. All eligible UTME and Direct Entry candidates are required to complete the online screening registration within the stipulated period to be considered for admission.

ELIGIBILITY

The screening exercise is open to:

  • UTME candidates who scored 180 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
  • Direct Entry (DE) candidates seeking admission into Ahmadu Bello University for the 2026/2027 academic session.

SCREENING REGISTRATION FEE

Eligible candidates are required to pay a non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,000.

Payment can be made:

  • Online using an ATM/Debit Card.
  • By printing the transaction slip and paying at any commercial bank nationwide.

Candidates do not need to travel to Zaria to make payment.

HOW TO REGISTER

Applicants should follow the steps below to complete their registration:

  1. Visit the official ABU screening portal:
    https://portal.abu.edu.ng/forms

    or access the screening registration through the university website:

    https://abu.edu.ng

  2. Log in using the required admission details.
  3. Pay the prescribed screening fee of ₦2,000.
  4. Carefully complete the online screening registration form.
  5. Upload scanned copies of all required documents.
  6. Review your application before final submission.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Candidates are expected to upload clear scanned copies of the following documents:

  • JAMB Result Slip
  • O’Level Result(s) (Maximum of two sittings)
  • A’Level Result (for Direct Entry candidates)
  • Birth Certificate
  • National Identification Number (NIN)
  • Certificate of Indigene
  • Any other relevant academic credentials

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Candidates are advised to carefully verify that their UTME subject combination is appropriate for their chosen course of study.

Applicants with incorrect subject combinations are encouraged to effect the necessary course change through the JAMB portal before completing their screening registration.

UTME candidates are also required to correctly enter the grades obtained in the five relevant O’Level subjects for their chosen programme.

The university warned that the submission of false information, forged documents, or fabricated results will lead to automatic disqualification from the admission process.

Candidates awaiting the release of their O’Level results are advised to wait until the results are available before completing their registration.

FAILURE TO REGISTER

The university emphasized that any UTME or Direct Entry candidate who fails to register for the online screening exercise will not be considered for admission into Ahmadu Bello University for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
