The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has officially announced the commencement of online registration for its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise.

The screening exercise is for candidates seeking admission into all undergraduate courses and programmes offered by the university for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to the institution, online registration will commence on Monday, 1st June 2026 and close on Friday, 3rd July 2026.

Candidates interested in gaining admission into FUTA are advised to carefully review the eligibility requirements and registration procedures before applying.

FUTA 2026/2027 Screening Eligibility Requirements

FUTA stated that only qualified candidates who meet the admission requirements will be eligible for the screening exercise.

UTME Candidates

Candidates must:

  • Have participated in the 2026 UTME conducted by JAMB
  • Score a minimum of 180
  • Select FUTA as their First Choice Institution

Direct Entry Candidates

Direct Entry applicants who chose FUTA as their First Choice Institution are also eligible to apply.

O’Level Requirements

All applicants must possess:

  • A minimum of five (5) credit passes including:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics

The credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings in:

  • WAEC
  • NECO
  • NABTEB
  • Or equivalent examinations

Candidates are advised to confirm that their results meet these requirements before beginning registration.

FUTA Reinstates MBBS Admission

FUTA announced an important update regarding its medical programme.

According to the university, admission into the MBBS programme, which had earlier been suspended, has now been reinstated.

This means that qualified and interested candidates can now apply for admission into the programme during the 2026/2027 admission exercise.

Applicants interested in Medicine are encouraged to verify programme requirements and apply accordingly.

Registration Period and Deadline

The university emphasized that the screening registration will run within the following period:

Opening Date: Monday, 1st June 2026
Closing Date: Friday, 3rd July 2026

Candidates who fail to complete registration within the approved period will not be eligible for the screening exercise.

Early registration is therefore strongly advised.

Screening Fee

FUTA fixed the screening fee at:

₦2,000 only

The fee is payable through the Remita platform after generating the required payment code.

Candidates are advised to follow official payment procedures carefully and avoid third-party payment arrangements.

How to Apply for FUTA Post-UTME Screening

Eligible candidates are expected to complete the screening registration online.

Step 1: Visit the University Website

Applicants should visit the university portal for registration and additional information.

Step 2: Complete the Online Application Form

Candidates are required to:

  • Fill the Post-UTME Application Form online
  • Provide accurate personal and academic information

Step 3: Print Registration Slip

After successful registration, candidates should:

  • Print a copy of the completed Registration Form
  • Keep it for future reference

The university noted that the Registration Form is compulsory for all applicants.

Important Registration Guidelines

FUTA advised candidates to pay attention to the following instructions during registration.

Correct JAMB Details Are Required

Candidates must ensure that:

  • Their UTME Registration Number is correct
  • Their full names are entered exactly as they appear on their JAMB slip

Mistakes in personal details may create admission issues later.

Complete Registration After Payment

After payment is confirmed, candidates must return to the university website to complete the online registration form.

Payment alone does not complete the screening process.

Upload of O’Level Results on JAMB CAPS

The university stressed that candidates must upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS.

The upload deadline is:

Friday, 3rd July 2026

According to FUTA:

Failure to upload O’Level results before the deadline will make affected candidates ineligible for admission.

Candidates are therefore encouraged to verify that their results have been successfully uploaded and reflected on JAMB CAPS.

Age Requirement for Admission

FUTA also released its minimum age requirement for admission.

Candidates seeking admission into the university must:

  • Be at least 16 years old on or before 30th September 2026.

Applicants below the required age may not be considered for admission.

Screening Participation is Compulsory

The university made it clear that:

Any candidate who is not screened will not be considered for admission into FUTA.

Participation in the screening exercise is therefore compulsory for all eligible candidates.

Applicants are advised to complete registration and screening procedures promptly.

FUTA Support and Enquiries

Candidates requiring clarification or additional information can:

  • Visit the university website
  • Contact the admission support lines provided by the institution.

This may help applicants resolve registration challenges before the deadline.

Final Note

The commencement of FUTA’s 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise provides another opportunity for qualified candidates to secure admission into one of Nigeria’s leading technology-based universities.

Candidates are encouraged to confirm their eligibility, complete registration early, upload required documents on JAMB CAPS, and follow all official guidelines carefully to avoid disqualification during the admission process.
