The Management of University on the Niger, Umunya, Anambra State, hereby announces the existence of vacancies in its medical and clinical service sectors. Applications are robustly invited from highly motivated, dedicated, interested, and suitably qualified professional candidates for immediate employment into the following vacant positions within the institution:
1. Medical Officer II
Job Description & Overview:
The successful candidate will be expected to provide high-quality clinical care, carry out medical diagnoses, manage patient treatments, and work collaboratively within the university’s healthcare framework to ensure excellent medical service delivery.
Academic and Professional Requirements:
Candidates applying for the position of Medical Officer II must possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree, or its recognized professional equivalent, obtained from a university accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and relevant medical bodies.
Evidence of full and valid registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Possession of a current, valid practicing license to legally practice medicine in Nigeria.
Evidence of completion of the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme (Discharge Certificate) or an official Certificate of Exemption.
2. Pharmacist
Job Description & Overview:
The successful candidate will oversee the compounding, dispensing, and management of medications, ensure adherence to safety regulations, offer professional pharmaceutical advice to patients, and manage the inventory of clinical supplies.
Academic and Professional Requirements:
Candidates applying for the position of Pharmacist must possess the following qualifications:
A professional degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or Pharm.D) from a recognized and accredited tertiary institution.
Official evidence of completion of the mandatory one-year pharmaceutical internship program.
Evidence of formal registration and good standing with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN).
Possession of a current, valid practicing license for the current calendar year.
Evidence of having completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, or possession of a valid Certificate of Exemption.
3. Laboratory Scientist
Job Description & Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting medical laboratory tests, analyzing clinical specimens, operating sophisticated diagnostic equipment, ensuring strict laboratory quality control, and providing accurate data to support clinical diagnoses.
Academic and Professional Requirements:
Candidates applying for the position of Laboratory Scientist must possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS) from an accredited and recognized university.
Official evidence of completion of the mandatory one-year clinical internship program.
Evidence of formal registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
Possession of a valid, up-to-date annual practicing license.
Evidence of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) service completion (Discharge Certificate) or an official Certificate of Exemption.
