History was made on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Council Chambers of the University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL), as Dr. Mrs. Esther Akpojuvie, formally took over as Registrar of the University of Delta, Agbor.

The brief but symbolic handing-over ceremony the pioneer Registrar, Barr. Richmond Jolomi Omagbemi, whose five-year tenure came to a close on the same day, expressed deep gratitude to God Almighty for the grace and mercy that saw him through his five year tenure.

He extended appreciation to all stakeholders, with special recognition of the registry staff whose support, he noted, was instrumental in making his tenure a success.

The ceremony reached its peak with the formal transfer of authority, as official registry documents were handed over to Dr. Akpojuvie, accompanied by the signing of relevant papers, a symbolic seal on the transition of power.

In her remarks, Dr. Akpojuvie offered thanks to God for her elevation and commended her predecessor for what she described as an excellent tenure.

She pledged to discharge her duties with diligence and integrity, while calling for the cooperation of registry staff and fostering strong collaboration with Senior Deputy Registrars and other key stakeholders within the institution.

The event drew the presence of high-ranking officials from the university’s registry department, underscoring the significance of the moment and the expectations that come with it.

Congratulations to the newly appointed Registrar!
