NURSING & MIDWIFERY COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (NMCN) RELEASES PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION RESULT FOR MAY 2026
The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare has officially approved the release of results for the May 2026 Professional Examination for Nurses. A total of 11,835 candidates were successful, achieving a collective average pass rate of 69%.
I. STATISTICAL BREAKDOWN OF PERFORMANCE
The results demonstrate varied performance levels across the different nursing categories:

II. INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTITUTIONS
Heads of nursing training institutions are hereby directed to verify their students’ performance via the official regulatory portal:

III. MANDATORY REGISTRATION & LICENSING FOR CANDIDATES
Successful candidates are required to finalize their professional standing by following these steps:

Application: Visit the NMCN portal at myportal.nmcn.gov.ng to apply for registration and licensing.

Modalities: Detailed instructions and specific modalities for the registration process will be updated on the portal by Wednesday, 13th May 2026.

Grace Period: Online registration and payment of the prescribed fees must be completed within 90 days from the date of result release.
IV. PENALTIES FOR LATE REGISTRATION
Candidates are strongly advised to complete their registration within the stipulated window to avoid additional costs:

Initial Penalty: Registration exceeding the 90-day window will attract a penalty fee of ₦16,250.00 per applicant.

Further Charges: Additional penalties apply for extended delays in accordance with Council regulations.
