FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, AKURE (FUTA) ANNOUNCES COMBINED MATRICULATION CEREMONY FOR ODLC, TOP-UP DEGREE, OTHERS
The Management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), is pleased to announce the formal Matriculation Ceremony for the current academic session. This ceremony is specifically organized for students enrolled in the following specialized academic pathways:

Top-Up Degree Programmes
-
Open & Distance Learning Centre (ODLC)
-
School of Professional Studies (SPS)
The matriculation serves as the official induction into the university community. It is a mandatory requirement for all new students to formally take the oath of allegiance to the institution’s statutes, academic regulations, and core values of “Technology for Self-Reliance.”
I. EVENT LOGISTICS AND SCHEDULE
All matriculating students, faculty members, and invited guests are expected to adhere strictly to the following schedule:

Venue: T.I. Francis Auditorium, FUTA Main Campus
II. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS
To ensure a dignified and successful ceremony, students are required to complete the following preparations:

Academic Regalia: All matriculants must be dressed in the official FUTA Academic Gown. These are to be collected from the respective programme coordination offices upon presentation of proof of payment and registration.

Punctuality: Students must be seated in the T.I. Francis Auditorium at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the ceremony (09:30 AM) to facilitate an orderly academic procession.

The Matriculation Oath: Signing the matriculation register and taking the oath is a mandatory requirement. Failure to participate or sign the register will result in the forfeiture of your student status and the inability to process academic results.
III. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY

Academic Procession: Members of the University Senate, Directors of Centres, and academic staff are requested to assemble at the designated point for the academic procession by 09:45 AM.

Guest Protocol: Parents, guardians, and guests are welcome to attend but must remain in the designated gallery areas to maintain the solemnity of the proceedings within the auditorium.

Security and Parking: All attendees are advised to cooperate with the university security team for screening at the gates and to follow designated parking directives to avoid traffic congestion within the campus.
IV. POST-CEREMONY DIRECTIVES
Following the formal ceremony in the auditorium, students may be required to attend brief orientation sessions or group photographs as organized by their respective schools or centres. Please check with your programme coordinator for specific post-matriculation instructions.
