FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (TECHNICAL), AKOKA ANNOUCES MATRICULATION CEREMONY
The Management is pleased to announce the formal Matriculation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. This ceremony marks the official induction of newly admitted students into the Degree, NCE (National Certificate in Education), and PDE (Professional Diploma in Education) programmes.
This event is a significant rite of passage, representing the formal transition of students into the academic community and their commitment to the rules and regulations of the institution.
I. EVENT SCHEDULE AND LOGISTICS
To ensure a structured and prestigious ceremony, all matriculating students, faculty, and invited guests are expected to adhere strictly to the following timeline:

Date: Thursday, 16th April 2026

Time: 11:00 AM Prompt

Venue: Paul Alabi Multipurpose Hall
II. ACADEMIC PROCESSION AND ASSEMBLY
The academic procession is a core tradition of the matriculation exercise. All Members of Staff and Principal Officers are expected to participate fully in the procession to honor the new intake.

Assembly Point: The Quadrangle

Assembly Time: 10:30 AM Prompt

Protocol: Staff members participating in the procession must be dressed in their full Academic Regalia (Gowns, Hoods, and Caps) according to their respective ranks and qualifications.
III. INSTRUCTIONS FOR MATRICULATING STUDENTS

Punctuality: Students must be seated in the Paul Alabi Multipurpose Hall no later than 10:30 AM to avoid disrupting the formal entry of the academic procession.

Matriculation Oath: Every student is required to participate in the collective swearing of the Matriculation Oath. Participation is mandatory to be recognized as a bona fide student of the institution.

Gown Collection: Students who have not yet secured their academic gowns are advised to visit their respective Faculty or Departmental Offices immediately for clearance and collection.
IV. CALL FOR STAFF COOPERATION
The success of the 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony depends on the collective effort of the entire university community. Members of Staff are kindly requested to:

Ensure that all administrative duties related to the ceremony are completed ahead of time.

Assist in the orderly coordination of students both at the Quadrangle and within the Multipurpose Hall.

Cooperate with the security and protocol teams to maintain a serene and dignified atmosphere throughout the proceedings.
