UNILAG REOPENS COURSE REGISTRATION PORTAL FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

In a final administrative reprieve, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, has approved a limited re-opening of the course registration portal. This window is specifically designed for students who missed the previous deadlines or need to finalize their “Add/Delete” corrections before the semester examinations commence.

The portal will be active during the following strictly enforced window:

• Opening: Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 12:00 noon

• Closing: Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 12:00 noon

Critical Academic Implications

This re-opening is described by the University Management as the final opportunity for the first semester. Failure to register within this period carries significant academic risks:

• Examination Ineligibility: Under UNILAG’s “No Registration, No Examination” policy, students without a validly generated course form will not be issued an examination docket.

• Lost Credits: Courses attended but not registered for cannot be credited with grades; such students are technically regarded as “ABSENT” for the semester.

• Probation Risks: Unregistered semesters can impact a student’s Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and status, potentially leading to probation or withdrawal if the GPA remains below 1.00 for consecutive semesters.

Registration & Correction Checklist

To ensure a seamless process, students should follow these immediate steps upon the portal’s opening:

1. Payment Verification: Confirm that at least 50% of obligatory fees (and all compulsory dues like Utility, Faculty, and Departmental fees) have been paid. The registration portal is often locked if payment records are not updated.

2. Add/Delete Operations: If you are correcting your course load, ensure you stay within the minimum and maximum credit unit limits allowed for your level.

3. GST Courses: Students must ensure they have correctly registered for General Studies (GST) courses on the dedicated if applicable to their year.

4. Docket Generation: Once registration is submitted, print the Course Registration Form and present it to your Course Adviser for signing. This is a prerequisite for generating your final examination docket.

Final Warning: No Further Extensions

The University Management has emphasized that no further extensions will be granted after the Sunday, February 22 deadline. With lectures for the 14-week semester expected to wrap up by late February and the GST and Undergraduate Examinations scheduled for March 2026, the portal must be closed to finalize examination broadsheets.
