The Academic Procession, which includes the Vice-Chancellor, the Chancellor, and members of the Senate, will commence exactly at the scheduled time. Once the procession enters the hall and the university mace is positioned, access to the main auditorium may be restricted to maintain the solemnity of the event.

Conferment of Higher and First Degrees

Academic gowns are mandatory for all graduands participating in the procession.

• Collection: Gowns must be collected from the University Registry upon presentation of the receipt of payment for convocation charges.

• Appearance: Graduands are expected to be in full corporate attire underneath their academic regalia. The university maintains a high standard of professional appearance; individuals who are inappropriately dressed may be excluded from the procession.

2. Clearance and Documentation

Only students who have been fully cleared by the Bursary, Library, and their respective Departments will have their names included in the Convocation Brochure and be eligible to receive their original certificates on the day of the event.

3. Alumni Enrollment

Convocation marks your transition from student to Alumnus. Graduands will be required to register with the UNIMED Alumni Association, a platform designed to foster lifelong networking and support for the university’s growth.

Guidelines for Parents, Guests, and the General Public

UNIMED warmly welcomes the families who have supported these students through years of intense study. To ensure the safety and comfort of all guests, the following protocols will be in place:

• Security: The Odosida Campus will be under strict security surveillance. Guests are requested to cooperate with security personnel and park only in designated areas.

• Auditorium Seating: Seating inside the Main Auditorium is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Overflow tents with live-stream screens will be provided for additional guests.

• Photography: While the university encourages the celebration of this milestone, unauthorized roaming photographers are prohibited within the auditorium during the official ceremony. Professional institutional photographers will be available to capture the moments.
