The Management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has released an essential directive for all newly admitted students and those who processed Inter-Faculty transfers for the 2025/2026 academic session. To ensure a smooth transition into university life, all students must complete their JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) requirements before the official induction.

This order, signed by the Registrar, Mal. Ahmadu Shehu, emphasizes that legal studentship is tied directly to the verification of your JAMB admission credentials.

Critical Deadlines and Dates

To avoid losing your admission, please keep the following timeline in mind:

  • Final Deadline for Printing: On or before Wednesday, 25th February 2026.

  • Matriculation Ceremony: Wednesday, 25th February 2026.

Important Warning: If you fail to print and present your original JAMB Admission Letter by this date, you will not be assigned a Matriculation Number. Without this number, you are not officially a student of UDUS.

Action Steps for Students

The university has outlined specific instructions based on your current status. Follow these steps immediately:

1. Check for Discrepancies

If the course or faculty on your UDUS Admission Confirmation Letter is different from what is shown on your JAMB Admission Letter, you must act now.

  • The Fix: Visit the nearest JAMB office or an accredited CBT center to apply for a Change of Course/Institution or a Correction of Data.

  • Why? Your university records and JAMB records must match exactly for your admission to be valid.

2. Printing Your JAMB Admission Letter

Even if your details are correct, you must have the Original JAMB Admission Letter (the one with the barcode and multicolored background).

  • How: Log in to your JAMB e-Facility profile.

  • Fee: This service usually requires a payment of ₦1,000 via Remita on the JAMB portal.

  • Direct Entry/Transfer Students: This is especially critical for you to ensure your previous records have been properly “migrated” to your new UDUS program.

Why CAPS Compliance Matters

JAMB CAPS is the official system that handles all admissions in Nigeria. Being “CAPS Compliant” means:

  1. You have Accepted the admission offer on the JAMB portal.

  2. Your O’Level results have been uploaded and verified.

  3. JAMB has issued a final Admission Letter for the specific course you are studying at UDUS.

Failure to comply with these regulations will result in your name being excluded from the Official Matriculation List. This means you will not be able to participate in the ceremony, and your admission could be withdrawn.
