The University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (UAST), Ihugh, has shared a very important update for everyone joining the school for the 2025/2026 session. The school’s “money manager,” the Bursar Mr. James Ormye, has released the list of costs for the year.

If you want to be a student here, you need to follow a specific timeline to make sure your spot is safe. Here is everything you need to know in simple steps!

Important Dates You Must Remember

The school has a strict calendar. If you miss a deadline, you might have to pay extra money or even lose your chance to study!

  • Friday, 30th January 2026: The online Post-UTME screening CLOSES. You must finish this first!

  • Monday, 16th February 2026: Official registration begins for those who passed the screening.

  • Friday, 27th February 2026: The final day to register without a penalty.

Warning: if you register late, the school will add a 10% extra charge to your bill. It is much better to be early!

How Much Does it Cost?

The school has divided the fees based on what you are studying and where you are from. A great piece of news is that Tuition (the cost of the actual teaching) is ₦0.00! The money you pay is for things like the library, computers, doctors, and the labs.

Fee Table for New Students

Programme Category Benue State Indigenes Other Students
Group A (Non-Lab courses like Management) ₦265,000 ₦365,000
Group B (Science and Agriculture) ₦310,000 ₦425,000
Group C (Engineering and Computing) ₦340,000 ₦455,000

Note: If you want to live in the school hostel, a bed-space costs ₦160,000 extra.

Ways to Save Money and Pay Easily

The university wants to help your family manage the cost. They have two special options for you:

  1. The “Early Bird” Discount: If you pay your entire fee before the school resumes, the university will give you a 5% discount. This saves you a lot of money!

  2. The Split Payment Option: If you can’t pay everything at once, you can pay in two parts:

    • 70% when you first register.

    • 30% in the middle of the school year.

How to Pay Safely

To make sure your money gets to the school safely, you must follow these rules:

  • Online Only: All payments must start on the official University portal.

  • No Cash: Never give cash to anyone who says they work for the school. UAST does not allow cash payments to individuals.

  • Bank Channels: Use the list of approved banks that the school will provide.

Why These Fees Matter

The money you pay ensures that you have a great library to read in, fast internet for e-learning, working tools in the workshops, and good medical care if you feel sick. Staying on top of your payments means you can take your exams and enjoy all the fun parts of campus life!
