The big boss of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), whose name is Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman (the Vice-Chancellor), has picked some very smart and hard-working people to help lead the school. When a university grows, it needs great leaders to make sure the students are learning well and everything is running smoothly.

The University’s Registrar, Dr. Nuradeen Abdu, shared this news with everyone in a special message. These new appointments are like picking team captains for different departments. Their main job is to make sure the school stays strong and helps every student succeed!

A New Dean for the Animal Doctors

The first big announcement is about the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. This is where students go to learn how to take care of animals and become veterinarians.

Prof. M. D. Salihu has been chosen to be the Dean of this faculty. Being a Dean is a very important job—it means he is the leader of all the teachers and students in that part of the school. Prof. Salihu comes from the Department of Veterinary Medicine, so he already knows a lot about helping animals.

His new job will start on February 12, 2026, and he will be the leader there for two whole years. Everyone is excited to see how he will make the faculty even better!

New Heads for Building and Planning

The Vice-Chancellor didn’t stop there! He also picked two other leaders for a part of the school called the Faculty of Environmental Design. These teachers will help lead departments that teach students how to build cities and measure building materials.

Leading the Quantity Surveyors

Dr. Dogo Bitrus Ajeye has a new job! He usually works in the Department of Geography, but now he will be the Acting Head of the Department of Quantity Survey. Quantity surveyors are the experts who figure out how much money and materials are needed to build big things like bridges and houses. Dr. Ajeye will lead this group for one year.

Leading the City Planners

Dr. Abejide Lewis Emmanuel Olumuyiwa is also stepping up to lead! He is from the Department of Geography too, but he has been appointed as the Acting Head of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning. This department teaches students how to design beautiful and safe cities. His new leadership role will also last for one year.

Both of these leaders are starting their new jobs right away!
