FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, DUTSE ANNOUNCES MATRICULATION CEREMONY
The university has some very exciting news to share! It is time for one of the most important days on the school calendar: the 14th Matriculation Ceremony. This is a big, happy celebration where we officially welcome all our newest students into the university family.
If you are a new student, this is the moment you have been waiting for! It is the day you stand tall, wear your special academic gown, and join a community of people who love to learn. We are so proud of you for making it this far, and we want to celebrate your success with a grand event.
When and Where Is the Celebration?
We have picked a perfect day and a giant space so that all your friends, family, and teachers can come and watch you start your journey. Please write these details down so you don’t miss a single second of the fun:
-
The Date: Saturday, 7th February 2026
-
The Time: 10:00 a.m. Prompt (This means the ceremony starts exactly on time!)
-
The Venue: The University Convocation Arena
The Convocation Arena is a very special place. It is the same place where students go to graduate when they finish school, so it is the perfect spot to start your adventure too.
Why Is This Day So Important?
You might be thinking, “It’s just a meeting, right?” But a matriculation ceremony is much more than that! It is like a “Key to the City.” By being part of this event, you are getting the “Key to the University.”
During the ceremony, you will take part in a tradition that is hundreds of years old. You will promise to follow the school rules, to be kind to others, and to study your very best. Once you have made this promise, you are no longer just a “candidate”—you are a bonafide student. This means you get to use the library, join the clubs, and be a full member of our school.
A Warm Invitation to Everyone
This event isn’t just for students. We want to see the whole arena filled with smiling faces!
We are inviting parents, guardians, brothers, sisters, and friends to come and “grace the occasion with their esteemed presence.” This is a fancy way of saying: “We would love for you to be there!” Seeing your family in the crowd while you wear your gown will make the day feel even more special.
How to Get Ready for the Big Day
To make sure your Saturday morning is perfect, here are a few simple things you can do to prepare:
Get Your Gown Early Check with your department to find out when you can pick up your academic robe. Don’t wait until Saturday morning! You want to make sure your gown fits perfectly and looks neat for your photos.
Plan Your Trip Since a lot of people are coming to the Convocation Arena, the roads might be a little busy. Try to arrive at the campus by 9:00 a.m. so you have plenty of time to find a seat and say hello to your classmates before the 10:00 a.m. start.
Take Lots of Photos This is a day you will want to look back on in ten years. Make sure your phone is charged so you can take pictures in front of the university signs with your family.
A Message from the University
The university leaders are working very hard to make sure the University Convocation Arena looks beautiful for you. They are excited to see a new group of future doctors, lawyers, engineers, and teachers all gathered in one place.
This 14th ceremony is a milestone for the school, but it is an even bigger milestone for you. It marks the first page of a brand-new chapter in your life. We can’t wait to see you there on Saturday, February 7th!
