CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU OJUKWU UNIVERSITY (COOU) ANNOUNCES 27TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY


The Management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (formerly ANSU) is pleased to announce the schedule for the 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony. In accordance with the Senate-approved academic calendar, this event serves as the official induction for all newly admitted students into the university community.

This is a day of transition where “freshmen” formally pledge their loyalty to the institution and are granted the full rights and privileges of students.


Event Schedule: Dual-Campus Celebration

To ensure a smooth experience for all faculties, the ceremony will be held simultaneously across the university’s primary campuses.

  • Date: Friday, 13th February, 2026.

  • Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

  • Venues:

    • Igbariam Campus: For students in faculties based at Igbariam.

    • Uli Campus: For students in faculties based at Uli.


Important Regulations: Ban on Campus Parties

The University Management is committed to maintaining a solemn and orderly environment during this academic rite of passage.

Notice of Restriction: The University has placed a total ban on holding parties or social bashes within the University premises throughout the Matriculation day.

Students and visitors are advised to comply strictly with this directive. The University security apparatus has been authorized to monitor the campuses, and offenders shall be disciplined accordingly in line with the University’s code of conduct.


Essential Steps for Freshmen

To ensure you are fully recognized as a matriculated student, please complete the following steps before Friday, 13th February:

  1. Fee Clearance: Ensure you have paid your school fees and captured your data on the university portal. Only students with a valid Matriculation Number are eligible to participate.

  2. Gown Collection: Visit your respective Faculty Office to pay for and collect your academic regalia (gown and cap).

  3. Punctuality: The academic procession of the Vice-Chancellor and the Senate starts promptly at 11:00 AM. Students should be seated at their designated campus venue by 10:30 AM.

  4. Oaths and Registers: During the ceremony, you will take the Matriculation Oath. Following the event, ensure you sign the Matriculation Register at your department to finalize your record.
