FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, DUTSE (FUDUTSE) ISSUES IMPORTANT NOTICE TO 2025 ADMISSION APPLICANTS

The Federal University Dutse (FUD) has released an important announcement to all candidates seeking admission into the institution for the 2025/2026 academic session. In a statement signed by the Office of the Registrar, Directorate of Academic Affairs (Admissions Unit), the university directed all applicants to immediately verify their admission status on both the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and the FUD Post-UTME portal.

The notice emphasized that the verification process is compulsory and must be done without delay to avoid complications or forfeiture of admission. As JAMB continues to process and approve admissions for institutions nationwide, applicants are urged to remain vigilant and follow the outlined procedures carefully.

1. Checking Admission Status on JAMB CAPS

The first step for all applicants is to confirm whether they have been offered provisional admission by FUD through the JAMB platform. The JAMB CAPS system remains the official gateway for admission confirmation in all Nigerian universities and ensures that no candidate is admitted without JAMB’s approval.

How to Check:

  1. Visit the official JAMB website: www.jamb.gov.ng

  2. Log in to your JAMB profile using your registered email and password.

  3. On the left side of the page, click “Check Admission Status.”

  4. Select “Access CAPS.”

  5. Click “Admission Status.”

  6. If you have been offered admission, click “ACCEPT” to approve it.

Candidates who reject their admission, whether intentionally or by mistake, will automatically lose the offer. Therefore, candidates are advised to handle the process carefully and confirm all actions before submitting.

The university further advised applicants to keep checking their CAPS frequently, as more admissions are gradually being uploaded.

2. Confirming Admission on FUD Post-UTME Portal

After confirming their admission on CAPS, applicants must also verify their status on the Federal University Dutse Post-UTME portal. This step ensures alignment between JAMB’s records and the university’s internal admission list.

Steps to Follow:

  1. Visit www.putme.fud.edu.ng

  2. Log in using your JAMB Registration Number.

  3. Follow the instructions to check your admission status.

  4. Once admitted, proceed to generate your Acceptance Fee invoice.

  5. Pay the non-refundable ₦2,000 Acceptance Fee via the portal.

  6. After successful payment, print your FUD Admission Letter.

The acceptance fee is mandatory for all newly admitted candidates. Without proof of payment, students will not be able to proceed with departmental screening or portal registration.

3. Registration for Newly Admitted Students

The University announced that registration for all newly admitted students will begin on Monday, December 1, 2025. All candidates who have accepted their admission are expected to report to their respective departments or faculties for physical verification and clearance.

A. Departmental Verification

This is the first stage of the registration process. Candidates must report in person with original copies of all necessary credentials, including:

  • JAMB Admission Letter

  • FUD Admission Letter

  • JAMB UTME Result Slip

  • O’Level Result(s) (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB)

  • Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age

  • Local Government Indigene Certificate

  • Post-UTME Screening Acknowledgment Slip

  • Several passport photographs

The department will authenticate the documents and ensure they meet the admission requirements before granting clearance.

B. Central Registration

After departmental clearance, candidates must:

  1. Log in to the FUD registration portal.

  2. Upload scanned copies of their verified documents.

  3. Fill out all required biodata forms correctly.

  4. Pay the approved school charges.

  5. Complete the online registration to become a fully recognized student of the University.

The university advised that students should pay attention to details during the online registration to avoid mistakes that could affect their academic record.

Additional Admission Lists Coming Soon

The management also confirmed that additional admission lists will be released as JAMB continues with its nationwide admission process. Candidates who have not yet been admitted are encouraged to remain patient and continue monitoring their JAMB CAPS and the University portal.

Applicants should ensure that:

  • Their O’Level results have been correctly uploaded to the JAMB portal

  • They have chosen the correct course and institution on JAMB CAPS

  • Their JAMB subject combination matches the requirements for their chosen course

These factors play a major role in determining whether a candidate will be offered admission.

Warnings and Important Reminders

The University issued the following guidelines to protect candidates from avoidable errors:

✔ Do Not Ignore CAPS Notifications

Failure to accept an admission offer within the required timeframe may lead to automatic withdrawal.

✔ Avoid Fake Information

Candidates are urged not to rely on unverified social media posts or private agents claiming to offer admissions. Only announcements from JAMB, the University website, or the Admissions Unit should be trusted.

✔ No Proxy Clearance

All verification and clearance must be carried out in person. FUD does not allow proxy registration or third-party clearance.

✔ Use Valid Email & Phone Number

All communication from the University and JAMB is sent through these channels.

Conclusion

The Federal University Dutse has taken proactive steps to ensure a smooth and transparent admission process for the 2025/2026 academic session. All applicants are strongly advised to follow the outlined procedures carefully, check both the JAMB CAPS and FUD Post-UTME portal, and complete all required steps within the stated period.

The University congratulates all candidates who have already secured admission and assures others still waiting that more lists will be released soon.
